Ouch, 12:45 is moving it pretty early for the NA fans…not that it matters that much, but ouch. I don’t mind the idea of 2PM, but I understand the requirements that make 12:45 a proposal. |

I remember Gordon Strachan saying a while back that lunchtime kick offs are generally despised by players and managers alike as it's the time of day that they're recharging (by eating and resting) after training. _________________ Dougie Hill

Travel during daylight hours is preferable to travel in darkness.
Temperatures are higher during daylight hours.
Road surfaces become more dangerous as temperatures drop.
Lunchtime kick offs WOULD save a considerable amount of energy.
I think it’s a no brainier, cheaper and potentially safer. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Presumably in the event of early kick offs to save money, all floodlit rentals of the pitch of which I presume there are many would immediately be suspended?
I wouldn't support early kick offs for home games unless other entities were doing likewise. |

If the entire park has converted to LED, the rough savings are 85% on previous, but I’d expect more as the old lights were horribly inefficient. Losing a portion of hospitality income and some attendees due to other events and reduced travel time before the game, it could be a negative for us. I don’t see RaithTV stream income making up the difference either. With the LED floods, as long as the rest is LED too now, I think we should be looking no earlier than 2PM, if we are really considering any earlier. |

2PM KO might only give you the first half without lights in the depth of Winter Tex, and for teams farther North like Inverness, it will probably mean lights on for a 2PM KO anyway as I doubt they want to turn them on during play?
I guess no matter what we do with KO times, the part time clubs will be hit hardest this winter, as they are pretty much forced to train at night! |

Then ICT, P’heid, etc will need lights on regardless…and if that is the lights on criteria, that is, any game that may continue after sunset needs to start lights on, Kirkcaldy’s earliest sunset is 3:39PM in December. I suspect they want the lights on before the actual sunset time, so to be fair, even a 12:45PM start might result in a match extending beyond 3PM and getting into the we need the lights situation.
On the need lights front, with only around 7 hours or less of daylight in mid-Winter, everyone will probably need the lights. |

How much does it cost to run our lights and why has the club moved the Christmas eve game which is a Saturday afternoon to the 23rd which will be played at night under the lights.Do they think that will save us money or bring money in. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

I saw a figure of £10 per hour quoted, for the floods…no idea on the rest. I assume they figure it’s better for attendance. |
