Congratulations both.
Hope you are both keeping well and healthy.
You usually get less these days for a life sentence from the courts!🥺

So you were sitting there feeding your face with steak pie and wedding cake while the rest of us were watching Munro's Rovers getting emptied 5-0 at Fir Park?

It's an ill divided world.

Congratulations to you both on your Silver Anniversary.

On this day in 1936 we recorded our highest ever defeat 11-2 against Morton. Embow, how badly did we play? Very Happy

To be honest I thought we had played quite well that day, and we were a wee bit unlucky as Morton just nicked it in the end!

The fans and players were a wee bit unsettled as, if I remember correctly, there had been some disquiet in the Boardroom leading up to the game.

35 years ago today Frank Connor guided Rovers to promotion at Stair Park, pipping Ayr United and Stirling Albion on the last day.

The picture of Connor jumping from the dugout when the final whistle blew at Somerset is one of the most iconic in Rovers' history.

I was doing my O grades at school around that time along with Wellyboot and, no doubt, many others on here.

Scary where the time goes.

One of my best memories of being a rovers fan (the match not the O grades). Listening to my wee radio as we went 4-1 up and Albion easily winning at Somerset until Ayr came back into it then got a penalty and missed. Running on the pitch towards Hamish McAlpine and the journey back on the bus where someone had got one of Paul Sweeney’s boots 🤣. scary that it is so long ago but great times!

Good to see the old Munich Olympic Stadium back on the tele after all those years, as it hosts the European Championships for track and field athletics.
Such a distinctive design still standing the test of time after 50 years.
Memories, memories indeed of Munich.🤗

Thirty years ago today, in the memorable 92/93 season, Rovers were involved in an absolute epic at Love Street.
It was second v first and with most Premier League games off due to internationals, the game drew a crowd well in excess of 6000.
Rovers were by far the better team in the first half and led through a Silky Hetherston goal, but Shaun Dennis was booked twice early in the second half leaving us with ten men.
Naturally St Mirren started to dominate, but Rovers put in a tremendous backs to the wall performance until Tam Carson went AWOL coming for a cross and the St Mirren forward's header was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Jock McStay, with about ten minutes left.
Carson redeemed himself with a brilliant save from Chic Charnley's penalty and nine man Rovers then survived a disallowed goal.
In what was now becoming a siege, Saints eventually equalised with four minutes left when Iain MacLeod inadvertently headed past Carson for an own goal, but the nine men showed great resilience to secure a point and maintain their two point lead at the top.
Even Saints manager Jimmy Bone was fullsome in his praise for Rovers performance.
