I knew that the White City was involved somewhere and thought it included Mexico but thanks for keeping me right.
Just looked at the England venues and indeed they did play every game at Wembley.
Luck of the draw or total fix?🤔 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I definitely read somewhere, long ago, that they were due to play elsewhere during the group stages but something happened which subsequently allowed for Engerland to play them at Wembley........driving me NUTS, cannae find it anywhere ..
Home advantage is 1 thing, but to not have to qualify AND play all your own matches at your home stadium is LOADING THE DICE......as indeed they did at Euro 98 ( I think)...
Where is the sportsmanship in that .
Gonna give up on this subject now......bad for the blood pressure _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

England v Portugal semi final was moved from Goodson Park to Wembley. Instigated by Sir Stanley Rous I believe who was FIFA President at the time. Sepp would have been proud. |

Thanks for that.
Sepp and ..plantini, unbelievable what they got away with, or should I say, how much money they got away with.
I truly hope that what goes around comes around for those two. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

I think I have just watched the worst Brazil team for many a year, their superstars went into hiding not the football I would have expected from a team famed for there control and passing ability. Just hope the French don't fall asleep tomorrow. |

Only a week of whingeing, analytics, denial and victim-mode clogging the media now! On the up-side, there is always some entertainment value to be found in that! |

The English premier league may well be the best league in the world.
However only about 30% of the starters on any given match day are English.
It is primarily the foreign players that shine.
Hubris is in the English “ make up”.
As Scott’s ,we are rarely on the front foot.
The last time we went to the World Cup finals thinking we could actually win it was back in 1978 . The “ were on the March with allays army,”
We failed to get out the group but did come home with the goal of the competition scored by Archie Gemmil.
42 teams to the finals next time.......will we qualify

I rarely reply to posts other than in jest - take no offence here Cuparman - but there is an association with your (mis)spelling of Scots - only one t - and Scott’s porridge oats sign and factory near Cupar. I am sure many on here will have noticed the sign and therefore my associated thinking with the previous post.
Back to World Cup - Croatia Morocco final would be interesting. Two buses parked in front of each other. _________________ Here Wee go again |

No offence taken.
I am familiar with the sign you refer to- I have driven past it thousands of times whilst living in Cupar.
It probably unconscious bias on my part as Scott is my surname . _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |
