From what I have seen of the four of them, I would put the order of priority in extending contracts
as Arnott, then Mitchell ,then Young, then Coulson. My son, on the other hand, has Mitchell heading that list. IM appears to have a different perspective?🤔
But we don't see them in training, in and around the Club etc .
IM has come in with a different approach to granting and extending contracts, and also their length.
How much of this is down to his philosophy and how much down to financial constraints is hard to judge. Perhaps he intends to see how the four get on over the next month or so, before deciding on
any contractual changes. All will be closely monitored and all are still training at SP. Development of youth must be a continuing strategy at The Rovers. |

Dont tell me Mitchell couldn't do what we have brought McBride in to do for example. |
But are we willing to do that? Most of our youngsters are only signed through seasons end. McNeil is the only one with another year to go, of all the youth on the squad. As I understand it, that means all the young players could be approached by other teams come December, so you best decide who is in the future fast. |
To be honest Tex, I don't think we have a choice. Transition in terms of management, back room staff, boardroom dwellers, players in and out and trying to re-stabilise the finances. Transition is a mild word for it.
As for the young lads, if IM likes what he sees, and he feels they either have a future or are a saleable asset, I would expect to see some contract extensions being signed by the end of November. That is of course if they want to stay at the Rovers and IM sees fit to keep them. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

I’d like to see a couple of more games before agreeing to that, but I’m not running out to sign him right now. |
