Quote: | Following a positive vote, the plan commits to the following:
Celtic, Heart of Midlothian and Rangers will join the Lowland League for season 2022/23, creating a 19-team league for one season only. This will result in a 36-game fixture calendar. |

Must be really tough these days for Cowden fans seeing their team in the Lowland league and getting beat regularly.
Tough times indeed for the Miners aka the Blue Brazil.
The Rev Ron Ferguson (rtd) ex-St Magnus Cathedral Kirkwall being one who must be hurting.
I just hope that we, as a club, can avoid, at all times, this scenario in the future 🤞 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

They'd get less of a penalty for going into administration. Its a wild punishment overall. |

“I have recommended as part of our Scottish Cup appeal that the SFA set up mandatory training for Club Secretaries“
I would like to see the above part of the Bank O’Dee statement implemented. This is a costly error for a club at this level for what is essentially an admin mishap. Would like to see what would happen if it were one of the OF…. |

Banks o' Dee are a sincere, innovative and hard-working club who have done very well in the Highland League. This looks like a genuine mistake. BoD are a breath of fresh-air compared to a plethora "entitled" clubs in the SPFL, who throw their toys all over the place, whenever something does not go their way! By contrast, their chairman's statement is sincere and he takes responsibility. They would have been very unlikely to overhaul Brechin City and there's no chance they will be relegated with their form. The outcome might not be that different for them. Still - very harsh indeed for a new club! I hope they win their cup appeal. |

Over the next 2 weeks The Spartans play-off against Brechin City to see who plays Albion Rovers, Egin City or Bonnyrigg Ross for a place in the SPFL. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

Would be interesting if Brechin were to replace Bonnyrigg in the league, the wheel turning full circle. _________________ Competitive goals: Easton 7, Vaughan 7, Hamilton 6, Smith 6, Stanton 3, Mullin 2, Connolly 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Was it not Kelty that relegated Brechin and Cowdenbeath who were relegated by Bonnyrigg? _________________ Dougie Hill

If Elgin City go down, they would be the first of the clubs invited into the league to go back down.
It would be a shame. They have the potential to match Inverness and Ross County - in terms of catchment population at least. They just never made it real on or off the pitch.
The system is a farce though. Bottom of League 2 get a bye to 2nd-round entry to the play off, no matter how bad they are and one of the Highland League and Lowland League teams must crash out, no matter how close it is. It would be fairer if the former were relegated and the losers of the first round were to face 2nd bottom in a decider, with the winners going straight up. Not that I want to see any side relegated, but it should be fairer than it is. |
