Here's our opportunity to find out a lot about both teams.
Are Ayr worthy of their position at the top of the table?
How will Frankie Musonda perform in an Ayr jersey? Do we have the strikers to exploit his lack of speed ? Mitchell would be our best bet but will he play?
Our new centre backs, will they shut out the threat of Ayr's rising star, Dipo Akinyemi?
Who plays for The Rovers in midfield....and at RB?
2-1 The Rovers. |

An easy away win i fear. That unit they have up front will cause havoc all afternoon and Frankie will stroll it due to our lack of firepower.
0-2 Ayr. |

Like the look of the big centre forward so far at Ayr and he will be a big challenge for our defence and IM to work out tactics for. However, at home we should be winning. 6-0 rovers |

If we go into it without any additions then it’s difficult to be very confident.
Ayr have been really solid thus far, all know their jobs, difficult to break down and their new boy up front knows where the goal is and looks a real handful for defenders.
I was pretty dismayed the way Frankie was treated by McGlynn last season. Fair to say Berra and Bene were the teachers’ pet’s of the team so was fighting a losing battle to get a run of games in his favoured position.
Getting 1st goal for us is vital I think, If we go behind again, difficult to see a different outcome from last couple… |

Ayr fans saying they can't believe we let Frankie go, has been fantastic for them apparently.
Equally frustrating that they have a striker in the mould of someone we could do with and he was picked up from something like the 6th tier of English football.
Having seen Ayr on TV against Dundee and watching a lot of teams highlights, including Ayr's, their striker looks a real handful. Nolan and O'Riordan will have their work cut out for them that's sure. Struggling to muster up much enthusiasm and the lack of talk of any new additions being brought in is very depressing. |

Ach, enough of the Negative Waves ,Moriarty ....on this Forum, mainly in absentia and but also on the other channel. (Honestly, I can't believe that some of the regular posters on Raith's P & B site are Rovers ' fans ,but rather Pars fans on the wind-up! )
Can't wait to get to SP this afternoon and see The Mighty Rovers put Ayr (Frankie, Dipo and all )to the sword. ( I was going to say, put them firmly in their place ,but, realised the next post would be ''Aye, at the top of the table'' 😂)
Who wouldnt want to be at SP today ,anyway, with the promise of a programme article by Specky Ginger re an interview with our impending (subject to clearance ) new striker ? Could become a Collector's piece!
Raith 2 Ayr 1. |

Mosunda will be on a mission today - to show us what we threw away. Would not be surprised if he even scores. When IM let him go, I honestly thought he had a better plan.
Hard to visualise a Rovers win today, but sometimes the team still surprises us, when all seems lost. |

I agree with most of this Neil.
I really rated Frankie and when he didn't re-sign for us I thought there MUST be bigger clubs with offers. However, when he signed for Ayr! I simply could not believe he left us to go there? Of course none of us know the finances of this deal, or indeed if Rovers even made him an offer to remain, but to me it seemed a move to a lesser club at the time. How wrong was I? They are definitely setting the heather on fire at the moment and look difficult to stop.
However IF we can repeat some of our really decent play from the last couple of games but in a higher quantity, we may have a chance today.

not getting all the doom and gloom stuff.
okay we are not where we would want ideally but i don't think our general play has been that bad and if our conversion rate in front of goals improves then i think we will be fine.
2-1 in a scrappy encounter _________________ Gallatown boot boys |

Well, Millen will concede two or so, probably lose another to a Nolan and O’Riordan miscommunication, and then someone else will make a silly mistake. |
