Wonder what this was about. £2600 paid out to BRS |
“The respondent has made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant’s wages and is ordered to pay the claimant the sum of £2,615.77 (net).”
The Rovers didn’t even respond to the complaint. |
Tex, Rovers would not have responded because it would have cost at least £7,000 to send a Lawyer to defend the club at a tribunal.
So, even if were were innocent of any wrong doing and we had in fact legitimately deducted his wages, it would have been cheaper for the club to simply pay the claimant and avoid the extra cost. Once you are at the tribunal stage, this is often the path innocent companies choose to take. Financially it is the lesser of the two evils.
The fact we paid out does NOT necessarily mean BRS had a legitimate claim. |
