Expectations and predictions are always very difficult to meet and predict at the start of the season when you are a Raith Rovers supporter, especially after all the shenanigans of last season, a change of manager, many players let go, some of our better players out on long term injuries and currently a thread bare squad with what appears to be a lack of defenders and a scoring centre forward.
If we can bring in a couple of decent defenders and a forward or two to bolster the team, then there is no reason with the quality we have and the returning heroes we can’t be in the top 3 this year.
However if we can’t make these signings (for whatever reason) and are forced to play players out of position in defence for a number of weeks and rely on untried and very young players to cover injuries I think we’ll struggle to get results and unfortunately lose confidence and be in an uphill struggle to avoid relegation.
I’m obviously hoping for the former. Ian Murray seems to know what he wants, let’s hope he gets the players he needs to be able to deliver.
Come on Ye Raith! |

Cannot argue with the post.
Just hope we get the best outcome. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Reason: Murray has to develop his team, and appears not to have been given a terribly large budget, and so is working with what he has.
Satisfaction: Yes, especially if we jettison DG before September. |
Amended with Berra retired: 6th to 9th…and God help us of we slide into the playoffs! |
