I thiought he had a no bad game for the Lichties today. He didn't get too bad a reception from our fans until the game got quite niggly late on.
All in all he's had quite a good career in fitba'
It was good seeing him at Starks Park again even if it was for the opposition. |

I dunno about that, the only times I noticed him was when he was making a mess of things! Some very slack clearances early in the second half, every time he got the ball he seemed to give it straight back to us! _________________ Follow the Trust on facebook and twitter |

The St Andrews United Committee is absolutely delighted to announce that Robbie Raeside has just agreed to become first team manager with immediate effect. Robbie is no stranger to The Clayton Caravan Park Recreation Ground, having played 15 times for United during the 1990/91 season as well as making 17 appearances for the club at the end of his career. The tall centre back was born in South Africa as a result of his parents travelling abroad to work but the Scotland youth internationalist is a Fifer at heart who first learned to kick a ball under Ian Donaldson and company at St Andrews Colts.
Raeside then enjoyed a long professional playing career that involved representing Raith Rovers in Europe, Dundee in the Premier League and Shelbourne in a Champions League qualifier. Robbie also won promotions with Arbroath, Alloa Athletic and Peterhead as well as playing for numerous well-known managers such as Jimmy Nicholl, Jim Duffy, Jocky Scott, Ian Wilson, Iain Stewart and Terry Christie. Robbie subsequently earned a diploma in Sports Therapy before filling the role of first team physio at Dundee and the full-time police officer has since gained his UEFA A Licence as a coach. Raeside therefore enjoyed a successful spell managing Arbroath alongside good friend John McGlashan and he has experience of coaching youth football in Monifieth plus the current Dundee FC Under 18 side along with Scott Robertson.
Robbie will be assisted by Steven Fallon who also played for St Andrews United following a long playing career in Senior football. 'Faldo' lists Dundee United, Stenhousemuir, Arbroath, Queen's Park and Tayport as former clubs and the Scotland youth internationalist made 18 appearances at The Rec under Jim Hardie between 2008 and 2010, despite battling a serious knee injury. The Paisley born defender has since gained his C Licence for coaching and he is currently working towards his B Licence. All members of the St Andrews United Committee would therefore like to welcome Robbie and Faldo to The Rec as we strive to climb up the non-league pyramid and we are confident that the new management team will help the club to make noticeable progress both on and off the park.

I've known Robbie as a good friend for many, many years - and you've no idea how much he has always detested that nickname.
Of course, he's from the East Neuk and has connections to St Andrews United, not least from his time in charge of Rovers U10s when home matches were played at Recreation Park.
Best wishes to him in his new role - given how far St Andrews United has fallen, he'll need a lot of support - and luck! |

First game in charge yesterday. A 3-1 win away to Arniston Rangers (Gorebridge). Good luck Robbie! |
