Watched the BBC documentary on iPlayer there. Took me back to those wonderful days of the 80's (before I moved to Fife) when we were all enthralled by Jocky Wilson. Memories of Jollees nightclub and the commentary of Sid Waddell and of course Jocky, the working class scot up against the arrogant Crafty Cockney. So sad to see his demise, I'm sure he had his reasons. Having watched the documentary I now find that I live just a few streets away from where Jocky did. I'm sure there are a few on this forum who were fortunate enough to know him in person and have a few tales to tell. |

I never met Jocky, but I think it's a disgrace that the council haven't done anything to commemorate a man who was twice world champion in his chosen field.
Even if it was just a simple plaque or naming a street after him.
His grandson Billy is a big Rovers fan, although I haven't seen him at games recently. _________________ Dougie Hill
