Just for a bit of fun I'll raise your Berra with Jimmy Nic to Berra with Smudger and John McGlynn as Director of Football.🎣🃏

Csaba László was a name that appeared on this forum away back last year before the bad run came along.

The reason why I can't remember.
Anyone able to enlighten me?

Oh dear!
Did you just look at all the league tables and pick the managers of teams near the top Tex?

I think you picked the Elgin city manager by mistake instead of the Edinburgh city guy.

Murray is just about the only one who has any experience at a level above League 1, the rest are untried and untested.
Murray has been found wanting in previously posts.

Just to be clear,
No
No
No
No
No
& No

I'd hang on to John McGlynn over all of those, better the devil you know, so when it comes to it other than Jack Ross (no chance!) I can't really think of anyone who would be a huge upgrade on what we have.

Slavver Laslo? I'd rather have Leviene......Avril that is Wink

Away and watch a baseball game.

Pretty much my thoughts NR.
I absolutely understand there will be divided opinions on whether to retain McGlynn and Smith, but anyone suggesting we replace them with Elgin City's assistant manager is either woefully out of touch or, more likely, attention seeking.

Nope. Selected mostly relatively young managers with decent performance track records, given limited resources. I don’t have the ear to the ground in fitba, but wanted to jump start some discussion. Honestly, I have little idea which wa6 we’ll go, but I hope it’s an up and comer with a history of supporting young players.

Whoever comes in I think it is clear that a club our size cannot sustain a full time squad with the resources we have. For reasons we are all aware of, financially this has been a disastrous season for the club and I expect huge losses to be announced.
I can see us returning to a hybrid system, retaining those FT players we have, perhaps punting a few for nominal fees and bringing in a raft of PT players.
This will limit the pool of managers available to us as there will be those not willing to work under such a system.
I would still like to explore options out with Scotland, those that have experience in lower leagues elsewhere in Europe (just not France Rolling Eyes ) although I do include NI as their league is not dissimilar to our own lower leagues.
Whether the tremendous amount of injuries we have sustained are down to training regimes or the facilities, a hybrid system might allow a great squad depth to be recruited which could mitigate those losses.
Whatever happens, I think McGlynn knows his time is up, he looked totally defeated in his post match interview and there has been no talk of bringing players in for the season ahead. I can see these last few matches being turgid affairs and rather than battling for 4th, we will be battling with Morton and Hamilton for 5th/6th/7th.
The only bright spot this season is that the Pars have been so abject, apart from against us, and that has been a huge disappointment.
Very much time for big changes at the club.

Sensible post imo.
Board need to put some effort into the process.
An error in judgment by them “could” see a downward spiral.
I don’t hold the board responsible for our current situation other than the support of the manager who I personally never thought was good enough.....and frequently said so........much to the disgust of most posters.

Time to move on. I hope the board make good calls reference our clubs future.

I just wanna watch good pass n move footy. Sometime you win and sometimes you lose. Sad

Perhaps some of the players need to take responsibility here. We have a decent squad on paper but they are not performing.

Bene - finished at this level
Musonda - hasn’t been the same player since being out
Dick - not a patch on MacDonald
Varian - works hard but he is a striker who doesn’t score goals
Zanatta - low in confidence perhaps but Jekyll and Hyde season
Williamson - goes missing in matches

There are more but that’s a start…..

I agree.
Confidence as we all know plays a huge factor. Heads go down sometimes and then it is CRUCIAL that we have players who can lift the spirits and lead by example.
Teams need leaders in their ranks and you don’t have to be OLD to be a good leader.
Whomever is head coach next season HAS to make sure that they have voices ( players) that on the pitch can lead by example.
Just shouting from the sidelines simply doesn’t cut it.

Leaders are worth their weight in gold!!

Yep can't argue with that summation, a winning mentality could be added to that, we lost not only a skilled player when Regan left but he was a leader and a winner as well

I shake my head in wry disbelief at some of the prospective candidates being mooted for a managerial post that is not yet vacant. The best of these might just sustain a position of mid table mediocrity, whist the rest would be fine successors to Gary Locke/Yogi. The Campbells, at 68, are extremely unlikely to surrender their God like status at Arbroath, and the only person missing from the list is Scott Brown, whom we are assured by the great luminary aka 'Sparky' in one of today's rag tops is 'a really nice person!' Whilst I'd be the first to admit that the last 3 months have been hellish, there are justifiable explanations for this slump. We have a manager whose stated aim is premiership status, whose track record with us is good, and who can attract quality players. McGlynn must stay!

With only 3 games left to the end of our season (barring a miracle) , I hope we hear some clarification on the managerial front in the coming days, theres half a team to be assembled including a whole new defence if some players dont want to stay for next season, and I'm already fearing the worse for our chances of staying up
