What we dont need is another dinosaur, or another McKinnon whos off like a shot after a sniff of success, nor any of the usual failed suspects , so that leaves us with not a lot of choice

Aye, because going for a manager who has taken a part time club to within the brink of the premier league is a daft idea, isn't it. Oh and he's won 15 games this season rather than 1 in 15.

What brink? Cannae even see the playoffs from here!

I think he means 'The Bunnet' taking Arbroath to the brink, rz.😉

Missed the encoded reference there then embow! Anyway, I would prefer a manager that I didn't need an interpreter for. Lot of good lower league Dutch guys who are unemployed and they speak better English than The Bunnet Smile

Selective memory, KR
Over the years, Dick Campbell has had far less success than John McGlynn. He and his team are having a fantastic season this time round, no denying, but that's no different from John McGlynn last season; and there's no guarantee Campbell isn't just a one-season wonder. remember, he's taken teams down as well as up.

And that's before considering his health and age, as has already been said.
So I repeat, you're having a laugh.

Just watched the post match interview, well most of it, I put it off a soon as he mentioned LV.
Sorry but McGlynns time is up, same excuses week in week out, Vaughans' injured, Berra injured, XYZ injured, and so many of these injuries are picked up in training. Even I can work that one out.
McGlynn talks about teams playing the long ball every week, well surprise, that's what this league is all about, you may have learned about silky soccer from your time at Celtic but guess what, this isn't the premier league or the Europa Cup, this is dirty, basic no nonsense football and he has failed to grasp that fact. There is no point stringing 20 passes together before losing the ball, a hoof up the park and some nippy wee forward get in behind our oil rigs of centre backs.
Smashing bloke, but his time is up and I do wonder if that is why Sim has handed the reigns to MacDonald, perhaps Sim didn't want to be the one to let McGlynn go but MacDonald can.

With you RZ

Is it now 10 points from a a possible 48 since December last year?

Cant defend the undefensible

The fact his contract hasnt been renewed/extended with 3 games left of the season i,d be surprised if the management team still being here next season

Two football cliches come to mind

1. Its a results driven business
2. You're only as good as your last result (or your last 15)

Sorry but that second half record speaks for itself. We play like that next season then we might make the playoffs again, but it will be the relegation one.

Who do you suggest we bring in as a replacement?

Never ever got why fans who are suggesting the management teams times up needs to suggest who they,d bring in as a replacement?.

Fans dont know whos available or who would apply for the job if it became vacant

I for one wouldn't thank you for Dick & Pink, RC's a good man manager but it's fair to say he carries a bit of luck too. Arbroath only just got the better of Hamilton today in a very even match where Hamilton just shaded the stat's and were perhaps marginally the better side. Key to being on such a good run is Arbroath's ability to field a consistent team, then add in that they had 9 substitutes available today. Some might say experienced but I look at the Arbroath squad as aging one with an average age in excess of 30+
In contrast Rovers today had only 3 outfield subs yet still shaded the stats on all bar corners and goals, luck deserted us and we just fell short. Average age of the Rovers starting XI today was about 23.

IMO many things have derailed our season and I'm no apologist for the management. I think Mssrs McGlynn and Smith are culpable to a degree but not completely to blame. Serious injuries and board-room insanity have seriously impacted the fortunes of the club this season. I think JM & PS will pay the price for events as a result of some things out-with their control, but never mind I'm sure when they announce Danny Lennon coming in as the new gaffer things will be different.

The fact that we have failed to use last weeks cup win to salvage our season tells us all we need to know about this squad and manager. It should have galvanised us to go out and tear Dunfermline and Morton apart, but no.

The late Frank Connor often spoke of having players "with character" but this is sadly non existent at the club and i am afraid John McGlynn must take the blame for this.

Having just listened to his post match interview, the only point i agree with him on is that our season collapsed on Dec18th at Firhill. The thought that losing LV was a turning point i find laughable as it would appear he is the only person who thought he was going to play regularly this season. Put short, he is a waste of a full time contract, along with a few others. We so need a change in the summer. How about Ian Murray who seems to be doing well at Airdrie?

Signed a two year extension at Clyde recently. That may rule him out.

Most contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on, less so with players but if a guy wants to go he will, especially if its a FT club approaching a PT one.
