We're just too easy to play against. Players are too powder puff on the ball. Totally incapable of holding onto the ball when a tackle comes in. |

Crowd of just over 1500. They must be including the season ticket holders that are staying away. More like 1300. |

Thank God that's over!
Awful result. Awful effort.
Just awful!
Can we move on from this debacle?
I'm beginning to doubt that we can win a league game again this season.
Time to go and get on with the tea.
Following that I feel strong drink coming on!
🥃 or three it'll be!😌 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

SIMPLY AWFUL !!
I need to wait until the alcohol wears off before I say more.
P.S. The alcohol was needed to get me through the last 87 minutes ! |

A season which had so much promise at the half way stage has just got worse and worse.
Always try to see the positives but they have escaped me today. |

As Rovers supporters, are we entitled to automatic Anti Depressants from our GPs ? |

In all honesty what does a drubbing at home from Ayr matter in the wider scheme of things when it's compared to the horrendous happenings in Ukraine?
There's always the next game or season for most of us. Not the case so far for thousands in Ukraine.
A wee bit of perspective needed from me to be honest.🥺 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

While you're right Embow, football is entertainment and is meant to be a wee bit of escapism. when that goes bad too, I think we are entitled to be a bit upset with the football too. |

Abject and apathetic. Most positive words I can find to sum up the overall performance from today. Not one interested player in the team from kick off, no effort, no desire, no ability. We've regressed as a team since the start of the season, we've thrown away any aspirations of being a passing side because we've just collapsed back into the Scottish way of hoofball with no game plan to back it up.
This part is on McGlynn, he's abandoned what worked so well for us in the first half of the season in an attempt to curtail a poor run of form, which coincided with our best passer and influencer in Spencer being injured. He's tried to adapt our game with little to no success and it just feels like its too far gone to rescue it now. We're not a squad built to play it long or win flick ons, but we're now trying to cram players into this in the hope we get something. If he goes in the summer, I don't think many will complain given what we've witnessed since early December.
Whats not fully on McGlynn is the slow, poor effort football we witnessed for 90 minutes. The players need to step up and either decide to give 100% or just admit defeat and be dropped and leave in the summer, contracted or not. MacDonald aside today, not one player gets pass marks over the 90 minutes.
Tumilty was poor going forward, long range passes going nowhere and being on the back foot when looking for the ball out wide. His only good thing was a shot at the end hitting the outside of the post.
Dick was so poor he was subbed at 3-0, a total shocker, his usual lack of ability with the ball and going forward compounded with an awful defensive performance as he was stuck in the pocket of his winger.
Berra. Slow, wasteful, disorganized, reactions of a sloth for a couple of the Ayr goals.
Bene, see Berra but also at fault for goal 4.
Matthews tried to run around a bit, didn't do much else over the 90 minutes. Not even enough effort to snap into tackles like we usually see.
Stanton is good with the ball but slow, stops the game and spent too long looking backwards, mostly due to the horrible options ahead of him.
Ross, garbage, however did more in the first 5 mins of the second half than he did in the other 85 combined. Clearly does not want to be out wide but either needs to accept that or go away.
Williamson, runs around a bit, zero end product, no ability in front of goal.
Connolly, anonymous. Almost forgot he was playing until he was announced as being subbed at half time.
Poplatnik won some flick ons, no threat in front of goal as usual. Not a striker, not someone we need. I feel a lot of people rate Poplatnik solely on him not being Varian, but neither are goalscorers and neither are the answer.
Subs. Hard to grade them given they came on when we were so far behind and given the dirge around them, weren't able to change the game. However, we ended up with Gullan, Varian and Ross playing as forwards and none of them were ever in the box when the ball was put in there. I don't think their keeper had many saves to make and the chances we did create we squandered way too easily. |

Our last win in a league game was - 11 December. Played 11 league games since then and drawn 5 and lost 6.
I’m guessing we’ll finish 7th or 8th now. Has the rot has well and truely set in?
The players are obviously picking and choosing which games they turn up for now….. |

I wasn't at the game today but if I was I would be beyond raging.
We have no right to expect to win any game. But as supporters I think the least we are entitled to is for those who are privileged to wear the jersey to give 100% effort.
As a youngster I dreamt of playing for the Rovers and I'd have given anything to pull on that blue Jersey.
Sometimes it's not your day and things don't go for you but 100% effort should always be a given. If that happens as supporters it's all we can ask.
But today hit a new low for this group of players. I'm actually shocked at how a number just downed tools. The body language of our Captain at times was just disgraceful but in all honesty the entire team let the supporters down today.
Another sh!t Saturday night for the fans in a World with very little good news right now. |

Should send Bene, Berra and Matthews out to explain why they were so abject today _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Post match interview now up for those who can bear listening.
Defence and team defending getting it in the neck from a far from happy manager.
Looks angry or maybe it is shell shock? _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Outplayed, outfought and outthought by Ayr.
MacDonald possibly the only one to escape criticism.
There were a few breaks that didn't go our way, especially at the start of the second half, but if it's not your day, the first thing is to avoid conceding cheap goals.
Dick was utterly abject in failing to stop crosses, although he was given no protection by Ross.
After months of being delighted to eat my words, Berra looked every bit the player I feared we'd signed last summer.
And as for the tactics and shape - Varian playing right wing with Gullan as the central striker?
Holy moly. _________________ Dougie Hill
