The one at the back looks like it's James Logan. Later Captain Logan whose eyesight was badly impaired due to action in the war. Thus later photos show him with dark glasses. Still didn't stop him picking some fabulous players in their day in the great Rovers team he managed in the early 1920's, including of course Alex James, Davie Morris and Bill Collier to name but three.
The guy in front of James Logan looks as if it might well be George McLay. He was one of the three casualties from the original seven volunteers who signed up with McCraes Battalion in December 1914. Has very much a look of him.
Would love to see this bit of historic footage especially the football bit remembering this was shot in the year after Dundee won the Scottish Cup in 1910. Quite possibly Rovers v Cup holders? Tasty. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Good news and what must be relief.
The thought of a 3-0 being dumped on us must have been worrying.

An absolute nonsense of a demeaning letter about the Rovers in today's Courier from some disgruntled Dunfermline supporter trying to hide the fact that he supports the Pars by waxing lyrical about the match day experience at Central Park!
He obviously buys into the 'wee team' mentality forgetting that the Pars are getting new lights and will no doubt also have electronic ticketing soon, if not already in place.

If I recall, the Par have the same systems we do in place…and the lights will be the same too. |

Delighted to see that the club's statement has blown a hole in everything the roaster's letter was implying. Hope he feels suitably embarrassed if he reads the statement. The Courier might want to reconsider its choice of correspondence that it prints before any outcome is announced.😠 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

The said Mr McIntyre was (maybe still is) a regular contributor to the Fife Free Press when I used to buy it.
Someone with an opinion on anything and everything.
I suppose from the Courier's point of view, printing his letter has provoked a response on here, and probably elsewhere, so mission accomplished on their part.
I've actually started buying the Courier on a Monday again as their coverage of the local football scene is pretty comprehensive and their correspondent Alan Temple produces some decent reading. _________________ Dougie Hill
