For the best, really didn't do enough, but I will always look back fondly on his goal against the pars |

Worth having for another year.
A good rum'le 'em up style of player who could hit a ball. Just lacking a wee bit of finesse. At best a reasonable squad player. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Thought McGlynn would have kept Gozie.
Sad to see him go |

Can't really say its something we lack until we see who replaces him. Can't imagine Mcglynn would let him go without having a suitable replacement lined up. |

Keatings is about 5 inches shorter and much slighter build than Gozi, Zanatta presumably replacement for Armstrong so doubt he will go up front so unless he signs another Gozi, we have no plan B in attack _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

It was an interesting experiment bringing players up from the lower reaches of English football.
They are all real ,although very different ,characters.
I do wonder if Gozie hadn't had those early injuries, if he would have blossomed more and won another year's contract. But, on the other hand, he might have spent a lot of the first part of the season on the bench ,since Manny was knocking the goals in at that time.
I wonder if the pattern will be repeated next season and some other guys identified by the Agent contact down South? If so, I'd hope that they are more Frankie's age that late twenties , with a potential for JMcG and Smudger to work on.
Hopefully, though, Gozie finds a decent new club. We'll remember his goals against Hearts and the Pars for a long time. |

At the end of the day neither Gozie nor Manny did enough to cut the mustard.
Gozie lacked the ability to find the net on a few occasions (ICT away particularly) that proved crucial.
Manny was on fire then suffered a massive drop in form and if rumours are to be believed following his Covid episode also a big falling out with the players and coaches.
This as RZ points out leaves us with no plan B, to be honest I'd prefer to see another battering ram signed but am left questioning if we really need to? The best partnerships I've seen at SP haven't featured any huge guys. Neither Daz and Brewster nor Smith and Wright relied on brawn so perhaps it isn't all that necessary.
The gaffer knows what he has and most likely what he still needs, I'm prepared to trust him. He'll know as well as anyone that the 3 top scorers from last season have gone and I'm sure he'll be addressing it.
By the way I see Jordan White is out of contract at Ross Co. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Gullan 7, Easton 7, Vaughan 7, Stanton 6, Akio 3, Brown 3, Dick 3, Connell 2, Goncalves 2, McBride 2 ,McGill 2,OG 2, Frederiksen 1, Lang 1, Nolan 1, |

Like Lars? I’m all for a target player, if we can get them the balls across the box. For now, we need a more skilled player than a bull rush player. |

The manager hasn't finished building the squad yet, a bit earlier to be accusing him of having no plan B. |

But we do play with wide players and put crosses into the box, this is the Championship, no some diddy league. Centre backs are going to be 6 foot plus and as robust as they come. We won't in any headers with Keatings and Lewis up front.
If you are going to play with wingers, you need a physical presence to either beat or occupy the CBs and the wee lad picks up the scraps. Remember in the modern game a 6'2" 14 stone centre back is still going to be mobile and agile, at the moment we don't like we can compete _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Last year we tried to cross high and it didn’t work because our target men, outwith Duku the first few games, failed to deliver. We moved to a more skill based passing attack, still using the wide players to switch play and cross low, with the wide player taking the occasional potshot and lots of pretty passing.
Now, while we didn’t score bags like that, we were missing Vaughan most of the season and our signed/borrowed forwards didn’t exactly show excellent ball skills. We will see which way JMcG elects to play, it in my opinion, Ugwu never looked to fulfill his potential. |
