Hardly a rumour when Kelty Hearts posted it on Twitter yesterday afternoon.

Mr Findlay of that ilk (Cowdenbeath branch) on radio this morning saying it would not be sporting integrity to allow play offs having clubs being voted champions after three games (Brora) whilst some clubs didn't even play one game in the Highland League.
Likewise Kelty after a handful of games in the Lowland League.
Donald was backing the Brechin proposal to stop the play offs... again!
Self preservation time comes around again.
And to think we fell very embarrassingly to Brechin in play offs for the Championship a few years ago. How things have been turned on the head. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

Despite a lot of widespread criticism of him, I think Donald Findlay is one of the game's good guys and has been a unifying voice in a lot of the political fallout from covid.
However, I do think he's wrong on this one.
If the Highland and Lowland leagues have called on a points per game basis, it's not really any of the SPFL's business.
And if Brechin are worthy of their place in league two, they shouldn't have any great problem disposing of a team which will hardly have played all season. _________________ Dougie Hill

I get that but calling a league after only 3 games played. Does that really make Brora champions? |

I agree with BP on this one, tough though it is on Brora and / or Kelty.
First, I don't think it is a reasonable argument to suggest that the SPFL should take no cognisance of how the Highland or Lowland Leagues go about their business of nominating their champions. What if they decided to do it based on goals scored, oralphabetical order, or whatever?
Second, in my view, this is an attempt to create a situation where two wrongs makes a right. It was the wrong decision last year to rob the deserving Highland and Lowland champions of their shot at the playoffs. And this second wrong decision is an attempt to make up for that by nominating the same two champion clubs, so they can have a shot at it now, a year down the track |

BP and SDR , I take the opposite view. Brora and Kelty were unfairly treated last season and their peers probably see it as just that they are the two clubs to get the belated chance of stepping up to League Two. If there were different anointed champions, then there would be more reason to block the Play-offs. |

That’s great news. Would have been a farce if Brechin had escaped a play off again after finishing stone last AGAIN.
Brora were miles clear after 26 games last season, Kelty were comfortably clear after 25games, on this basis alone it is fitting and fair they are granted the opportunity of promotion this time round.
Since Brechin defeated us in play off and promoted to Championship...
Championship 17/18 - 0 league wins (bottom,relegated)
League One 18/19 - 9 league wins (bottom,relegated)
League Two 19/20 - 4 league wins (bottom)
League Two 20/21 - 2 league wins (bottom)
Looks like arivederci for the hedge... |

Isee the playoffs are now confirmed, and I'm sure all right-minded people can see the fairness in the outcome.
But I hope, Franco, that you take my point that here we do indeed have two wrongs making a right.... |

SDR, now that I re-read your original wording, very closely, I do !!!!👍
Apologies, I misinterpreted you, initially.
We are both very satisfied with the somewhat belated outcome. |

Great result for Kelty today and overall. Think Brechin will really struggle to stay in the league now and, TBH, it's about time. Just wish KH would rebrand to Kelty Rovers _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |
