Let's just look after our own games!
This is our last home game before a three match stretch away.
Make no mistake , this will be tough , in every sense. Dick Campbell will set out his team to nullify our attacking strengths and LV and Regan Hendry, to name just two , will know that they have been in a game.
If none of Rossco , Macca and Jamie Gullan make it , we are significantly weakened .
We could do with Rossco's battling qualities in midfield in this game, more than most.
Without Jamie Gullan , do we have a suitably mobile striker to play up front with Lewie (probably not, unless Kai is used there, and our two wee strikers buzz round the ankles of the RL's defence ), or will JMcG decide Gozie is needed to combat the Arbroath CBs?
Will Dan require to fill in at LB again, because it would be a major surprise if Cooney was asked to play alongside Bene? Fortunately, Bobby Linn prefers the left flank but Dan could still expect to come under pressure. [ I edited this before to change reference to Bobby Linn's favoured position , but, on checking by Google I see he is referred to as a right winger. Is my memory letting me down ,as I recall him causing all sorts of difficulties to us on our right side. Maybe he likes to switch wings ,sometimes going on the outside ,sometimes on the left. Whatever, he has given us headaches in recent years!! ]
I'd take victory by a single goal, right now.

Win five, assured second and a chance at first. That’s the only element within our control...one loss or draw and we potentially lose our absolute control over our destiny. One game at a time, best team is important, but resting any players needed for the possible playoffs, if injured a bit, is a consideration. Mendy might be available, has anyone heard? |

I see on the Arbroath website that Bobby Linn is already out for the rest of the season with an medial ligament injury. I hope he recovers fine ,although he may take longer at 35. |

Yeah, he went off before ht v QoS when they blew a two goal lead.
Don’t wish injury on any footballer but glad he isn’t playing on Saturday, great player on his day as we have seen on several occasions!
Huge difference playing at Starks to that horrible day up there where we were flattered to lose by a single goal. No doubt our surface will play to OUR strengths.
With correct application, expect us to win what is a vital game if we are to hold on to 2nd spot |

I’m hoping that Alloa can either hold or beat Hearts Friday, which would give us the chance to notch nine points before Hearts play again. Imagine Hearts playing on the 20th with a game in hand and just a 2 or 3 point lead...yes, they’ll be facing Morton, but still... |

If we play the way we played against the Pars and Livi, we should have no problem. We will only have a problem if there is a slack or complacent attitude towards Arbroath.
While I want Rovers to win every game, I have mixed feelings at this stage about the gap closing on Hearts. My bet is that we will have SO much more hinging on that last game than they will and if they are not treating it like a cup-final, nothing real to play for - and if they are just preparing for next season then - so much the better for us. |

I would not be worrying about the Hearts game. We need to make sure that if at all possible we take care of the one home game and the following three away ones to be in the second top spot at best and fourth at worst where we cannot be caught irrespective of the result in the final game at home against Hearts.
Three consecutive away games is a huge ask as indeed is a fired up Arbroath at home.
That's why it really has to be one game at a time. _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

i dont care if it is 6-0 or 1-0 as long as we get three points. Im only concerned about us, not Hearts or those just below us. As Marvin once said.....Believe! |

Seen a suggestion that Musonda and KMac are out, plus Mendy is still unavailable...can anyone confirm? |

Must admit to being a little apprehensive about this one. Imagine Arbroath could be a tough nut to crack and are battling to avoid the relegation play off spot. In my mind I'm thinking six points from the next three games will surely see us clinch a top four finish. Seven or nine points might even be good enough for second. Zero points to tomorrow and the pressure will really amp up on us. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

If we beat Dundee on the 24th, nine points might do it, otherwise we probably need at least or 11-12. |

Before we play them on the 24th Dundee have to play Dunfermline and Inverness. If they were to not win both of them I'd hazard that nine would be enough. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |
