Jim McInally in the Evening Express here today, saying that £2k per week for tests, along with empty grounds could just be too much for some smaller, part-time clubs. He claims that many clubs do not agree with the (assumed)
re-start and that it could be disputed.
As far as I can see, and apart from the cup dates given, there is no official re-start date for the leagues themselves agreed as yet and the directive is only that clubs can start training again - only IF they get their players tested first. There could be many twists and turns yet. |

“To complete a 22 game season will mean extending the season to fulfil all fixtures, including those that may have to be rescheduled. But this is possible without impacting on anyone other than club 21 (9th in the Championship) who may have to wait a maximum of 2 more weeks for the play offs.”
So the club 9th in the Championship would have sit idle for 2 weeks whilst they complete an extended season.Cant see them being too chuffed at that _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Player welfare and wellbeing is absolutely bottom of their list here. "up to 4 games in a week" for some teams? Awful. |

Cowdenbeath v's Stranraer postponed due to players isolating.
I hope none of our young lads are affected.

Hoping the cowden boys are fine.
If our loanees are affected, may well have a knock on effect for us, would think they would still train with us part of the week. |

Why train with us if they're on loan to Cowdenbeath?? |

Because they are contracted full time professionals and Cowden only train 2 times a week. They will train with Raith twice or four times a week during the day and train with Cowden at night. _________________ Competitive goals: Connolly 15, Gullan 7, Easton 7, Vaughan 7, Stanton 6, Akio 3, Brown 3, Dick 3, Connell 2, Goncalves 2, McBride 2 ,McGill 2,OG 2, Frederiksen 1, Lang 1, Nolan 1, |

There’s actually the fact that until yesterday they were contracted Modern Apprentices, which involves certain minimum training hours and such in their field, thus requiring training with the Rovers when loaned to a part-time team. Then, as noted above, as contracted full time players, they are being paid to train all week, so the days they don’t train with Cowdenbeath, they train at Stark’s. This works out well for PT teams with loans from FT teams, as the players get additional work/coaching outside their training with the PT team, and allow the coaches of both teams to coordinate to their advantage.
You can bet that Cowdenbeath offered JMcG assurances on the minimum amount of time they expected to play Coulson and Mahady, and would be updating John on any changes due to play above/below the expected level from them. I bet that the Cowdenbeath staff update John weekly on what they see in Quinn and Luke and any identified weaknesses…stuff that John will then ensure are focused on while the two are working with the Rovers. |
