Mendy, for me, struggled against Alloa and his weaknesses were definitely exposed that night. However, there is a huge improvement in his defending but still a bit to go to play at the level the Rovers are at.

Its good to see the defence getting credit as the focus this season has been on how good we are going forward. Long may it continue!

Despite losing to Dundee, I'm pretty sure very few Rovers fan will dispute that Hearts will win the league with some to spare (no matter how much we would hate it), but it would (in my humble opinion) serve RRFC's cause more if they were to win all their games against our nearest rival for the play off spots. We need the likes of Dundee, ICT and the Dark side to drop points against each other and Hearts to beat them all. Yes, it sounds odd to want Hearts to win and it hurts but can any of you see them not winning the league anyway? Shocked Shocked

Events elsewhere
Lock-down!
Seasons finished, we were 4th. Wink

Wonder if Falkirk fans would dispute the outcome if it came to be?

Heard no updates on sport yet, but fully expect football will be stopped for the rest of January. I guess it would mean either midweek games later on or an extended season.

Everything going ahead as "normal".

Dont think there is an option to extend season if it came to that due to the Euros at the end of the season.

Bottom two getting more detached as the afternoon progresses.
ETA Arbroath get two in a minute to make a mockery of the original sentence! Embarassed

Draw was a better result though I'd say.
I'd far rather they got a point each than either of them picked up all 3.

Meanwhile we are:
7 points (potentially 16) clear of 2nd bottom with 3 games in hand.
9 points (potentially 15) clear of bottom with 2 games in hand.

Or if you prefer:
1 point behind 4th (potentially 5 clear) with 2 games in hand.
4 points behind 3rd (potentially 2 clear) with 2 games in hand.
2 point behind 2nd (potentially 1 clear) with 2 games in hand.
12 point behind 1st (potentially 6 behind) with 2 games in hand.

With the games in hand being against the top 3 it is massively in our own hands, we could reel them in.......or more easily plummet into that mid table cauldron of fear!

While a top 4 finish would be lovely, as long as we can keep daylight between us and 9th then I'll be happy. For that reason I'm happy to see the Arbroaths, Alloas and Qots of this world to continue not to pick up 3 points on any given Saturday. If and when we are safe then I'll be hoping they can pick up all points against all others (except us obviously) but until then losses are best unless like today they are facing fellow strugglers....then a draw is the order of the day.

Win our games in hand and beat Jambos twice (while turning round the -9 goal difference)

2-2 full time.
Definitely the best outcome for us.

Ayr lose 1-0 at home to a highly dubious penalty given to Hearts after Neilson moaning like whatever at HT about not getting a penalty in the first half.
