Would be a good signing both on the park and in the dressing room. Would certainly help with McKay's education and development, probably McDonald and Bene's too for that matter.

I don’t think there is a player on Raith, excepting MacLean (who isn’t really a player anyway), who couldn’t learn a whole lot from SAndo. Even Davo could profit from his insight into turning Davo’s rage into something productive. There are just some players who can transmit a feeling of calm and organization to a team, some players that have “it”, and Steven Anderson has it in spades. Some youth or low level coach somewhere deserves plaudits for what they helped mo(u)ld in Mr. Anderson, because while a lot of it is down to his character and drive, there is certainly someone somewhere that twigged him onto some of this stuff.
It was also clear from his comments on Off the Ball that he is a student of the game, loves it, and is still interested in playing at some level. He seems the kind of player that would relish driving Raith to the top of the Championship as a little message to those that let him go. I also suspect he would love to get into coaching, and we could certainly do much worse on our staff. |

I'd be happy with Anderson, MacLean and Davidson to be player coaches at the club, i'm all for the progression of players into non-playing roles to keep them involved in the game and ideally, away from punditry  |

Sando seemed to embrace Rovers from the moment he arrived .Sadly we didn't
get all we could from him owing to his injury.
But he's a winner and an organiser and could be crucial as we step up a level.
He'll get other offers tho, so it may depend on the sort of deal we can offer and if
eg he's looking for a two year contract and a way into coaching at this time. |

Love the idea, but suspect we could only keep one as a player/coach. As for punditry, after listening to SAndo on Saturday, watch out! |

Anderson looked like a class act in League One but his lack of pace was sometimes exposed though his positional awareness seen him through. However he'd be going up against a better grade of player next term with us and while that wouldn't have been a problem it could well now be after his injury and lengthy lay off.

Don’t disagree that the Championship would be his upper limit next year, and even then, not necessarily as a 24/7 starter. During the layoff, he is using roadwork to stay in shape, so his endurance shouldn’t be an issue. Awareness trumps speed in most, but not all, cases. |

I had him as a nailed on signing too, just goes to show ye.
On the plus side he was woefully slow at times so that won't be missed, on the negative he had a good football brain and was a good organiser. Davidson reads the game every bit as well and has imo better feet (changes foot quickly and well does Davo) and all look a moan but his organisational skills aren't as good.
There will be others, onwards and upwards.

| He maybe has a coaching role with st johnstone which will allow him to continue with part time football or he has secured employment out of football. |

Sorry to see him leave. I felt he brought so much more than just being a player. The improvement in our back line was immediately tangible with him there and so much better and confident even when he was out the side with injury.
Any player that wears his strip properly, wears black boots, wears his socks like socks and not like "stockings" and tells the clubs longest serving player to get tight to his effing man within two minutes of his debut ticked alot of boxes for me.
Good luck to him at Forfar that's a decent club for him. |
