Well (if he ''MUST'' go )lets hope the Board have learnt from the David Bates fiasco!
Ziggy is a rough diamond and as I said on aother topic thread ,its a great pity he's not getting to learn from playing and training with Lewis Vaughan.
Mind you, there are some aspects where eg Bairdy can improve him too.
And .if last saturday is anything to go by,a lot of work on his right foot is needed. He's only turned 17, tho, and has come on remarkably from his appearances at the tail end of last season.
John McGlynn is not daft and will be pointing out to a local lad and Rovers supporter how much he has benefitted from playing in the first team.Elsewhere he might find himself sitting on the bench (but there is the money aspect from his point of view also) |

He'll leave at some point and when he does we MUST be properly compensated in terms of a transfer fee and a sell on clause. How many years is it since we received a decent fee? That, of course, is all down to the competence of the board. They need to understand how dispiriting it is for supporters when players leave for nothing.
Just out of interest what was the fee for Callachan? |

Think we got £40K for Callachan & it might just have cost us promotion. |

Spoke to his grandfather tonight and he hasn't heard anything about this. His second word was something to do with waste water. Anyway why transfer a player to a team that'll be changing their manager soon. |

Given his physical presence at such a young age he is certainly the sort of player clubs down south are after and I would prefer him to go there than another Scottish club _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

I assume that it would be at the January window,at the earliest, but hope not then.
John Sim is on record as saying he made an error in selling Ross Callachan, when ''he'' did. Maybe he/the Board would not see the sale of a 17 year old as similar ,but he's suddenly become an important player for Raith.
Hopefully he/they have not forgotten that we wouldn't be in League One if Vaughany hadnt been sent out on loan.
Selling Ziggy this season wouldnt say much for the Club's ambitions!
ps Isnt Mr 6-4-0 too cautious to consider Ziggy ready to play in his first team,it would be one for the future. Judging by Sportscene there is another
Edinburgh team in urgent need of a striker
But any ''raid'' for Kieron would be for his potential-and that's part of the danger re not obtaining a decent fee (and a decent % of future sale- sales,if negotiable) |

You would like to think that lessons have been well and truly learned, but after Nisbet, I am not so sure. We know damn well that is not simply that anyone who scores for Raith are too good for them, but more that we have a history of letting good players go for paltry compensation - if any at all. It's no surprise that it always seems to happen to us more than other clubs around us.
Clear signals have to be sent out, that we are not the mugs of Scottish football, otherwise we will just attract more predatory moves from other clubs in the future, every time some manager wants a good player on the cheap.
Hopefully it is all just press speculation about Ziggy - rumour-mongering on a quite day. |

Pretty sure any 16 year old in Scotland bursting into a 1st team and more than holding his own is going to be noticed by plenty clubs/scouts.
As a local lad and so young, I would hope (and expect) that he is staying here to build experience, improve as a player, get plenty 1st team football under his belt and review things in a couple of years. |

I would say he's far from the finished article, needs a lot of work on his right foot, will do him a lot of good to stay with us and learn |

Just noting that the RaithTV lads mentioned an Arsenal scout attending today, and others including Man City the last couple of weeks. |

Mere speculation.
Lets not create speculation Bates style.
I'm confident that he will have stable advice and will continue to be a true Rover. _________________ Hope he's got plenty Rovers action to comment on tonight.... |

Might do him good to have a rest, maybe give young Jack a run out instead?
I'm sure the conspiracy theorists will have him talking to Rangers/Celtic/Hearts/Dundee utd/Arsenal etc. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |
