Instead of starting a whole new thread could you not have just fired this in the 2019-2020 team thread? _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Why?
Lyness, Millar, Munro, Stevenson, MacDonald etc all have their own threads, why should Mendy be different?
He might have beefed up in the last 12 months Wee Sandy _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Watching that video he is certainly going to scare the hell out of some lightweight wingers this season. Can you imagine someone like Flanagan having him bear down on them, he'd need new shorts _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Really enthusiastic and a lovely beaming smile, he hasn't got that haunted look about him yet........... maybe hasn't been found by Margie yet!
That'll be another restraining order in the offing _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Horrible competitive debut for the lad but I'm not getting too carried away.
A few poor decisions and definitely a half to forget but by all accounts a better 2nd half. So I think we should look at the positives here.
All last season we complained about being unable to defend high balls into the box, Nando's best feature is his heading ability hopefully the rest of his game will improve too, I remember big Marv looking ropey in his 1st games too and if anything Nando looks more comfortable on the ball, maybe too much so!
Worth taking into account that Nando has never really played at this level or in this country for that matter, he'll need time to adjust to the physicality and the speed the game, he will get better.
Someone suggested he needs games against lesser opposition find his feet, I agree, I think throwing him in against the best team in the group was a mistake. If you're going to rotate guys (Bene was left out) perhaps it would have been a better idea to play Nando against the likes of Cove and Peterhead.
Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet, he'll learn I'm sure of it. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

As I stated on a previous post this is when McGlynn has to knock the rough edges off him. He's raw to say the least. When Marvin Andrews signed he was shocking and Nicholl&Smith failed to improve him. Only the coaching of John McVeigh made him into the defender we all remember.
Also, as a mate of mine rightly points out, McGlynn comparing him to Mark Campbell & Andrews and telling us he's going to be a fans favourite has not helped matters. |

Had high hopes for this lad when he came in. Sorry to say that he’s at fault for at least 3 of the 7 goals we have conceded in competitive games so far. Davi and Bene must be raging they have to babysit him _________________ RIP RONNIE |

Davo went utter ballistic at him at one point at a later stage in the first half after failing to track his man for a third time. Bene had to drag Davo away and have a bit of a chat with Nando. The fact we're starting four centre halfs in a game is grim. What's worse is that three goals came via high balls into the box. Davidson had a chat with Nando at the start of the second half was well. |
