Here's tae the Twa Hoops! Razz

We were late to the party regarding using two hoops.

Montrose used light blue on white from 59 to 70
We used dark blue on white from 63 to 72.

Other notables were Stirling Albion red on white-57 to 65, Dundee United black on white-58 to 62 and Alloa black on yellow-60 to 62.

I take it this doesn't count from 1950-52.

Yes we were if not the first club to use two hoops then we must have been very close.

You got there just before me!
That was going to be my starting question.
Anyway, I can well remember the United and Beano's strip of the late 50's to early 60's. Alloa and Montrose not.
Alloa was always the full hoops shirt that I can recall and have no memory of anything Montrose. Maybe because we were in different divisions until 1963 and, by the time we were in Division Two with them, I was trying to make my mark in being a decent football player, thus not getting to a lot of matches.
Major fail with that one! Laughing

This is where you need to go, if you've got plenty time that is.

Rangers in the 1940's/50's had two blue bands on a white background.

The Huns had a white away top with one red and one blue bands on it from 1954.

In fact, let's call them hoops rather than bands.

Our 1950-52 kit above still beat it though.

The Borland has always been a wee bit backward scientifically Bill, even has a fair bit in common with black holes, as light doesn't escape from the Boreland either. Wink

Back on subject, bring back the half and half top. Idea

Liked the Barca one but never a fan of the tartan top.
Neither were 1st team shirts though Bill, both were 3rd choice strips.

I know Scotty but I thought they were nice strips better than some since then. I for one would be interested in buying them if they have my size. Laughing

Looked up Always Next Season to see what happened next in the tie - we drew the replay 0-0 at Easter Road, before winning the 2nd replay 4-1 at neutral Tynecastle with goals from Penman(2), Kelly and McIntyre.
We were back at Tynecastle five days later and lost 0-1 to Hearts in the next round.
Interestingly Always Next Season gives the gate for the game shown on youtube as 32867 which is bigger than the figure generally quoted as our record attendance (31306) for a cup tie at home to Hearts the following season (we lost that 0-1 as well to a Willie Bauld goal).
