Given that some matches in Euro 2020 are set to be played at Hampden, it would have been strange timing for Scotland to move elsewhere!

With numbers as low as 17500 in attendance these games should be played at smaller stadia like Easter road, Tynecastle or even San Starko for smaller gates. It's just pointless having Hampden or Mirryfield open for these numbers, also the atmosphere is rotten with the stadiums not even 1/2 full...

Who actually ‘owns’ Queens Park anyway? Where will the £5million go?

Its a private club

Some of the 5 mill is to be used to upgrade Lesser Hampden where Queens Park will play their games once SFA purchase Hampden. The rest may well end up shareholders pockets Wink

Being a private club they won't have shareholders but they have members and are run by a committee with a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary voted in by the members. There may be an honorarium for the secretary and treasurer and possibly travel costs. The players get expenses only as Queens are still strictly amateur in status.

Dont think that is necessarily the case embow regards a private company not having shareholders but may well be the case for QP

Some QP players are signed on a professional contracts and are paid £1 per week in lieu so technically not amateurs Wink

Cheers Vinnie.
I'm always open to learning something new.
Didn't know about the £1 in lieu.
Public or private as shareholders go
Something else I didn't know.
Wink

I remember it from when clubs were getting named and shamed for not paying the minimum wage

Every day is a school day

I'm a Hampden remainer. Smile Smile For me Scotland needs all it's big stadiums for big events - few as they are these days. for me, there is too little co-operation between football and rugby.

UK & Eire to mount a joint bid for the 2028 Euros.

I can't find the quote, but I read that a study into refurbishing Hampden is being considered.
