Seems a lot of effort for £450 per cause. You could raise that through a sponsored walk these days. Not a dig at you, just seems a shame. _________________ Nothing to see here... |

Also not a dig at anyone I'm just wondering here but why is it more folk don't turn up, is it simply a case of having other stuff on including those who work Sundays, a lack of interest in watching music bands perform or is it something wider? |

8 folk going to hospitality for one game would make more for the club than rock the rovers does. What's the point in all the hassle? _________________ Nothing to see here... |

I'm a rovers fan not a music fan so didn't go, especially on a Sunday.
Am I right in saying all the bands get sponsored? Surely more got handed out in sponsorship than got raised? |

More fans putting in the same effort as the usual few would make even more than 8 at hospitality.
Can't believe how some folk on here go out their way to be negative about anything Raith Rovers.
Great effort again Quinny, was there on Friday and enjoyed the evening. I appreciate fans like yourself that go the extra, to help the club. |

Quinny will probably be able to answer that one? your explanation is kinda what I suspected but was curious if I was right or it was something else, I'm pretty much the same but I like to make the effort as at the end of the day it's a fundraiser for Rovers & not just that it also helps out local charities etc. but each to their own I suppose. |

It shouldn't be overlooked that the four charities now have £450 more than they did last week at this time.
An event of this type incurs a lot of fixed costs and very few variable costs.
Another 50 bodies through the door would generate £500 extra profit, not just revenue.
I know business is business but I'll be very careful about spending my money in the establishments which ran music events on the same day to try to undermine Rock the Rovers.
Well done to Quinny and everyone else who played a part in organising it. _________________ Dougie Hill

Dont think anyone is overlooking that.Think the points being made is the amount of work, organisation, time put into this event for a lowish amount of money being raised

I wouldn,t,its about choice.I didn,t go to any other establishment which ran music the same day as RtR but didn,t attend either days of RtR.

Most people probably have no interest in giving up a day of their time to watch a bunch of unknown local musicians who will almost certainly be mediocre at best.
I would rather just pop a tenner in the post to Rovers. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |

First of all the bands get sponsored by local businesses and raith fans groups otherwise the gig wouldnt go ahead.Second of all the numbers are well down from over the years thats for sure and its cos of a whole host of things.Third i am getting stick for doing something not only for the club, charities, good causes and the kirkcaldy public.Which makes me wonder why i bother but when i get everyone involved thanking me and charities thanking me for getting a few quid then thats why i do it.4th and finally AU you are a clown and your attitude is arrogant to say the least. That is the nicest thing i can say about you without getting banned although after reading what you said i may aswell get banned. You surely havent been to any of these gigs otherwise you wouldnt say what you did.Who do you expect me to get U2,BEYONCE and SIMPLE MINDS for a local gig.Every single act who has played at this over years has been brilliant and entertained 1000s of people in that time.Seeing you werent there pop a tenner in an envelope and hand it into starks park as that will cover for the ticket you never bought and the club gets another tenner. It takes me a year to organise this event and its a lot of hard work i just wish it would be appreciated more. _________________ YOULL NEVER WALK ALONE

U do more than some fans Quinny I know how much time and effort it takes for u to organise the event. As for au I am like Quinny don't want to say to much cos I will get banned not that bothered as I would not have to read all the crap u put on here u moan about everything the club the team u and never happy when we win u slag the players and I am waiting for how long u start slagging off smith u also said we would lose 4-0 v Alloa just shows how much of a rovers fan u are wanting us to lose. If u think u can raise money for the club then go ahead but don't slag of Quinny cos he does more to raise money for the rovers that u have had hot dinners do us all a favour and start supporting the team instead of slagging the team off. |

Not criticising you for the line up at all. I'm sure you do the best you can with very limited resources. It's more just the case that you're flogging a dead horse. People aren't going up to turn up year after year to watch essentially the same line up of musicians - no idea if they're bands or individuals or whatever because I've literally never heard of any of them.
Maybe it would be better to make it a biennial or maybe even triennial event. _________________ If I were a fighter I'd probably kick your ass. |
