Trying to stay positive for Saturday. It's going to be a very open game as a draw is no use to either team. I reckon we'll win a very close game, although we'll need to witness Harkins scoring another free kick.
As we're also relying on results elsewhere, we couldn't ask for anymore than St Mirren at Easter Road. Hibs will want to put in a good performance on their big day. |

To be fair to Hibs so far they have shown no signs of easing up against any of the bottom 3 |

Our home record and home recent form is still decent, so this is a guaranteed win for Raith on Saturday. All eyes will be on Easter Road, where Hibs will do the business and we will be 8th.
Undeserved, but safe for another season. |

Very true and we are very lucky that they have just gotten better since the league and struggling to beat us. That said, St Mirren will be the stiffest test for them of all the teams in this league. |

In this season of absolute chaos and ineptitude can anyone honestly say they'd totally rule out us losing 5-0 at home to Ayr? _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 16, Easton 11, Hamilton 9, Smith 7, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

That is very true. However, yesterday's result followed a pattern for St Mirren and for us (our away form). On Ayr's pattern and our home form, you would not expect we'd even lose, not least by that margin. I am far more worried about ending up in the play offs, being thrashed by 3 or more goals in the away leg and then not being able to do enough to reverse it and win the tie by bettering such a result at home. Right now I'd be delighted if we beat Ayr by a cringeworthy own goal, results elsewhere tipped in out favour and we undeserverdly stayed up. I really don't fancy 2 away games after Dumbarton and St Mirren!

Neil I never thought any of it'd come to this but perhaps we should be hoping for that play off place.
We shouldn't lose 5 goals at home but the way things have gone why not?
I was distraught after Easter Rd where we deserved a point.
I thought we'd get beat yesterday but didn't think we'd capitulate to the extent we did.
I stated elsewhere that I didn't think Dumbarton would get another point, well just shows what do I know? they did! Can you put it past them not to draw with beat Falkirk at home?
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see St Mirren beat Hibs at Easter Rd.
I don't see why any of this wouldn't happen, given what's gone before. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 16, Easton 11, Hamilton 9, Smith 7, Stanton 7, Mullin 4, Connolly 3, O'Reilly 3, Rudden 3, S Brown 1, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Millen 1, Mitchell 1, Murray, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Because under Hughes we always lose away and never lose at home. |

If you are looking for positives....
We have won more home games this season than any side outwith top 4 and are unbeaten at Starks since Locke departed.
(Excluding ourselves) Ayr have the worst away record in league
St Mirren are an improved outfit lately but still only have 4 victories on road this season and travel to Easter Road where Hibs have lost just the once
If we win and Saints lose we will survive, pretty much on default but I'll take it!
*Remember, these are the positives, the multiple negatives have been ignored! |

I have said before our home form under Hughes is pretty good, so hopefully that will be enough to keep us up. I'm not sure most other managers mentioned would have been able to get any more points that Hughes has managed. We have players who are not mentally strong enough or motivated enough to put a shift in every game, and Hughes is right to question players desire. We have had 2 shocking performances under the new boss, but other than that we have been in every other game. Although the players have to take the majority of the responsibility for yesterday's debacle, the team selection, formation and tactics were terrible. It would have been nice if Hughes had come out and admitted that he got it wrong. |
