The boy in the white jumper deserved to get a hiding and I agree with Danny Swanson's opinion on the Scottish justice system.

I'm not sure what they will do with this one as it's unique. It was not a criminal trial, which guilt is found beyond all reasonable doubt and therefore he does not have a criminal record in relation to this.

It was a civil trial, which guilt is only decided upon the balance of probability. Similar to a disciplinary hearing at work. However it is for rape and not for stealing someone's piece.

Plymouth waiting before saying anything:

http://www.pafc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/david-goodwillie-3524055.aspx

Quote:
"WE note today's judgment from the Court of Session in Edinburgh regarding David Goodwillie.
We await the full report, which we will consider in detail before making any comment.

Until such time, David Goodwillie will not be selected to play for Plymouth Argyle"

Plymouth reporting that Goodwillie has left by mutual consent and has left football. As I thought previously it is not that straight forward as it was not a criminal conviction therefore I reckon it wouldn't be that simple for Plymouth to simply sack him.

http://www.pafc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/statement-david-goodwillie-3536714.aspx

PLYMOUTH Argyle Football Club Limited ('PAFC') confirm that David Goodwillie has left the club by mutual agreement.
Mr. Goodwillie has asked the club to terminate his contract of employment in order that he can focus his time on a potential appeal of the civil judgement made against him. PAFC has agreed to his request.

PAFC will make no further comment on this matter.

Thought provoking piece in the Scotsman about rehabilitating offenders that are also footballers:

https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/clyde/stephen-halliday-david-goodwillie-and-football-s-moral-maze-1-4758748

With Livi reported to make a bid for Goodwillie it raises some interesting points about the moral dilemma, also lists a few players/coaches offences I didn't know about Shocked

Livingston aren't far away from putting together a convicts XI. And they are managed by someone who's conduct at The Rangers over the last year or so has been a disgrace.
I doubt they'll get too hung up on the morality of it all.

No thank you. Granted he would score goals but the negative publicity and hatred this signing could bring it is not worth it.

Could potentially lose fans, sponsorship and advertising.

Would score goals, but the negativity surrounding him would be too much I think. He's also 32, potential to be another Keatings. Pass.
