|

I have not been around a lot latley as I have been in and out of hospital however as the big guy in the sky has granted me a few more seasons I have another daft idea for raising dosh.Mr Mcglynn has asked if there was anybody out there who could finance a reserve team I think the members of Fantalk could. All we have to do is contribute 1 pound per week each there are at the moment 458 members of Fantalk if we all gave a pound a week that would make about 23000 pounds in a year any thoughts. _________________ Raith Rovers 7 Queen of the South 2 1967 those were the days |

Sorry, that was a bit negative of me!
I think this would be a great way of supplementing the cost of running a reserve team, but wouldn't do it on it's own. Even the Reclaim The Rovers campaign, which was a response to one of the most severe crises our club has faced, the money we raised might not have been sufficient to properly fund a reserve team. _________________ Follow the Trust on facebook and twitter |

Its a good idea and it could contribute to other fund raising initiatives for a Reserve team.
However, how many Fan Talkers would really contribute? I don't think that many would.
Just look at some of the fund raising initiatives that are struggling or are a bit slow at the moment to sell their Rovers products i.e., SoWs great Rock the Rovers music cd, the Fan Tile wall, the Classic Top 3, etc.
All great products and excellent ideas but the Rovers fan base is sometimes a bit slow to support them.
The guys who have purchased are usually the same crowd. |

Okay, so how about the site moderators close down Fantalk and reopen it as subscription only at a rate of £1 per week which goest towards the intiative?
Problem with a lot of these fundraising initiatives is that it's hitting the same pockets every time. One-off events like Rock the Rovers or Sportsmans Dinners are great for getting big money out of people who otherwise couldn't give a hoot, but generally it's the same core fanbase who are asked to fork out or find the cash.
Folk are already paying £14 per game at Stark's so maybe our fundraising should be targetting those who are not putting money in regularly. _________________ NO FOOTBALL FOR FASCISTS |

this is a really good idea actually, and if anyone wants to put in more money per week they are able to, but still a spot on idea....
well worth looking into
also the subscription idea is just as good a couple of pund a week is spot on with all moneys going to the rovers....
this could be done for a lot of things, even for cash come pre season, maintenance plans, etc.... youth development.... (if reserve team wasnt hapning) |

Couldn't all the supporters clubs and any fan talk users clump together and look into this? _________________ TadeFromTwoYards.com |
