A wee sneak preview of what bands/solo`s are playing and where.
FRIDAY AUGUST 25th at THE DUCHESS.........

3 of these bands will be new to some folk but i suggest you go and listen to them on youtube or wherever and you will be pleasantly surprised how good they are.May not be to everyones taste but still good.Hopefully after checking them out you wll want to see them live at the gig.Tickets are to be confirmed but they will be £5 either advance tickets or paying at the door on the night.The idea i am looking at is that anyone who goes to this gig will be able to buy tickets for just £5 for the STYX GIG on SUNDAY AUGUST 27th and you can get these at the duchess on the night.Still to be confirmed but thats the idea.

Some great acts and all for £10 either advanced tickets or pay at the door.The good causes which are more or less confirmed are MYELOMA UK,KIRKCALDY RUGBY S1/S2,KIRKCALDY FOODBANK and of course the mighty RAITH ROVERS F.C.If i make more money than i think we are going to them another good cause will be added after the gigs are over.Regarding kirkcaldy foodbank i hope to have a collection point organised on the day of the styx gig so that anyone coming along can make a donation.You all know how the foodbank collection works as we do it at starks on an occasional match day.It will maybe be from 2 - 4pm or something like that but all will be confirmed in good time.It really is a fantastic day and i hope have some special guests along and raith colours are always welcome at both gigs.All details will be confirmed at end of june.

we shall mate and thats one of the reasons i have posted up here before it goes in the press etc in the next month.So i can get some interest from rovers fans as its still a rovers gig just with donations to good causes along the way.

Just checked out the bands on the Friday and that looks a decent line up.

There will be a collection point outside styx from 1pm till 3pm on august 27th for anyone who is going to the gig and wants to make a food donation to kirkcaldy foodbank.Volunteers from kirkcaldy foodbank will be on hand to take the donations.Mike at styx has also said he will accept donations on the friday and saturday in the build up to the gig then passthem on to the volunteers when the time comes.The whole point of rock the rovers is to raise money for good causes and the football club aswell as listening to some great music but if we can help out our own people with a food donation then its a chance we cant miss.MORE INFO WILL BE PUBLICISED IN DUE COURSE.

I hope to see plenty rovers fans along at both gigs this year as it is all for a good cause.All those going are fine for wearing raith colours as has always happened over the years.There is also going to be a raffle done at both gigs for some decent prizes and if anyone wants to donate anything to it then get in touch with me.

Next weekend is the rock the rovers gigs so hopefully plenty folk come along to them and listen to some great music.However i read in the press today that on the saturday there is an all day band/performers event at kittys starting about 2pm.Its organised by the ymca but surely them and mario know its rtr that weekend and may be trying to scupper our crowds.I REALLY HOPE WE GET PLENTY FOLK ALONG AS ITS ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE.
