For the non Facebookers here is the latest from Ally. Posted yesterday.

In case you don't know the reference to musical memories, Ally posts frequently twice or thrice daily on all the different music that has meant something or brought on a special memory for him since he was a wee laddie.
Music has played a huge part in his life.

Thank you everyone for all the kind wishes, messages, texts etc. They really do mean a lot to me and help keep my sprits high. In case it appears rude that I haven't answered, there are just so many that it kind of overwhelms me a bit and I have to switch off for a few minutes. Another of the reasons I'm doing the musical memories is that I'm concentrating on happy memories, lifting myself, rather than concentrating on how the illness is progressing and talking about that all the time. I know you'll all understand, but I can't thank you enough for being there...each and every one of you xx

Barney I've copied and pasted. It's easier for those not a member or able to sign in.

It's all horribly bad news and very sad.
I thinking a lot of you my friend and hope you are as comfortable as it's possible to be in these awful circumstances.

For non Facebookers

Hi guys - an update.

As you know I was taken back into hospital yesterday after having difficulty getting fluids down.

Last night I was sent for a CT scan, and also throughout the whole night I've been vomiting blood, lots of it.

The result of the CT scan were made known to me this morning whilst the consultant did his rounds.

Firstly - cancer itself has spread into other lymphnodes but I knew this already.

Secondly - the tumour has wrapped itself around the stent and growing over the top, which is why I can't get anything down. Another stent will hopefully be fitted on Monday.

Thirdly - the tumour is growing at such a rate it's also wrapping itself around my windpipe. I thought this was happening as I do have trouble breathing. Anyway, there is nothing anyone can do to stop that.

All thoughts are now on palliative care to keep me as comfy as possible over my last few weeks, The consultant thinks I've got weeks left.

I need to take some time to digest this news as the reality and finality sinks in.

Talk of the Times, the love and the laughing.

Ally x

The saddest update, as a family we have experienced Ally's love of Raith Rovers first hand over many years.
A fine man and a friend to so many.

Do you know what? Ally phoned me with his desperately sad news this morning just after I left Stark's Park. The man is dying before us, and do you know what his first concern was? Is the game on or off?

He also asked me to let the gaffer know, to update the football community and to pass on his Media Officer duties to Niall Russell.

The rest of our conversation was private...and really emotional...but I just wanted to share how incredible a guy he is that his concern even now is his beloved Rovers.

You'll Never Walk Alone, Ally.

The latest update is really sad news. His ability to remain positive and fight this awful illness is outstanding and admirable. I don't know you personally Ally, but thinking of you.
