On sunday at ROCK THE ROVERS there was a good turn out although not as busy as i had hoped for but even so we still manage to raise about £2500 towards the 6 charities and RAITH ROVERS FC.If you add the money raised from the other 2 events the scottish night in june and the dinner in july then thats over £5000 raised from the 3 events.These events were organised to celebrate 10 years of rock the rovers which has raised almost £60,000 in that time for many good causes and the football club.
Those who did came along which was still in good numbers enjoyed the gig and everyone of the acts who played were brilliant.I would like to thank a lot of folk which are all the SPONSORS,GARY and KENNY from JOE`S BAND [who set up and worked on the p.a all day],STAFF and MANAGEMENT at KITTYS,ALL THE BANDS and SOLO`S [who were brilliant],ALEX CONDIE and DAVE WANN [who introduced acts on stage]and ALL THE LADS FROM FIFE`S FINEST [who were the crew for the day].
I would also like to thank everyone who attended the scottish night in june and the dinner in july which were fantastic events.I would like to also thank the acts and guest speakers at these events which were FOLK THAT,ANDY CHUNG,THE TARTAN SPECIALS,JOHN ROWBOTHAM,CRAIG BROWN and BILL LECKIE.I would finally like to thank every single person who has supported ROCK THE ROVERS over the last 10 years by turning up every year to see some fantastic bands/solo acts.A lot of the acts are local although we have had 3 or 4 from other parts of scotland,england and northern ireland.Your support has helped me raise a lot of money which is very much appreciated and judging by the letters i receive so do the charities and the football club.
Without all this support it would not have been possible to put on this gig year in year out which isnt too bad considering it was meant to be a one off to help save raith rovers in 2005.There wont be a rock the rovers next year as i am taking a break from organising it and to think about the way forward.It may come back in 2 years but we shall see.

Congratulations and well done on persevering over the years Gav.I'm sure it's been appreciated at the club although I imagine they don't show the support you have deserved,well done again.

You and the team behind you have done great over the past decade . Im sure you have had your fair share of downs however im sure there has been more positives thank negatives over that period .

Doing these events can't be easy at times , especially trying to coordinate all the bands , charity's and event venue's . You and the team deserve a break . With the new community trust set up I hope you can come back to this event at some point with a fresh approach and more backing from new and old quarters .

Hats off to you and all who supported the events and to those who have gone the extra mile to keep things going over the years . I hope a sportsmans dinner is run again that was a great night .

Congrats Gavin. Well done for all the hard work over the years. Although it may not have felt like it at times, so many people have benefited from the contributions that have been made through your efforts.

Great to see all the charity's there today who have benifted from rock the rovers 10 .

Well done to the organisers, 10 years of hard work and a tremendous ammont raised over the passed decade .
