The tournament used to be with other supporters teams, we regularly had albion rovers, Cowdenbeath, Dunfermline and livingston in the past along with half a dozen rovers supporters teams but most have disbanded now as attendances dwindle

I can understand that , there might be fresh interest at the end of next season since we have 3 new teams in the league .

Well done on the event its all in good fun .

What about the Bevvy park? You could play across the pitch and im sure for 90 mins it costs around £40 to hire the full thing, including changing rooms. I know a few people that don't like playing on Balwearie so that may help get a bit more interest?

Tried that. Council won't allow it without public liability insurance.

Balwearie is the only pitch available at that time of year as KHS is used for other things, shuts in the afternoon and is considerably more expensive. Kirkcaldy has no other facilities which if you ask me is utterly appalling. Moving it out of Kirkcaldy would kill it's identity as a Raith supporter's tournament. Although given saturday was the 10th tournament we've run in 8 years I'd says we're doing it bad to have it full every year

The other consideration is that having more teams means more matches and more time hanging around waiting to play. 2 groups of 6 works out just fine.

And Balwearie is within spitting distance of the 200 Club for a post match bevvy.

Is there also a problem with the fact that there is no guarantee the pitch at balwearie is going to be available due to it not being hired out during the summer.Thats what i heard when i was down watching it last week.
