I'll never understand it that's for certain because Rovers have never went on a journey like Pars have the past few years. Getting into financial difficulties is one thing but thw way they withheld our money from us during promotion race a couple of years back was disgraceful. Reread the original post and for everytime it mentions Dunfermline or pars or Dafc substitute it with Rangers. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

You will never understand simply because you choose not to. Not because it isn't understandable.
You say you never went on a journey like we did......Well truth is you kinda did.
Not to the same extent as we did but like us it was not the fault of the fans and you did not deserve to lose your team and all its history as a result of bad management over a few years. Neither did we!
There were many fans who questioned our ability to maintain the levels we were operating at and they made their voices heard.
However most fans dont have a clue what players get paid or what it costs to run a club.
They hear supposedly respected businessmen say its ok we have no debt we can afford this, all the money on loan is from directors and fans and they are happy as things are.
All they want is to support the team, enjoy Saturday afternoons and leave the management to do the sums.
Of course we revelled in our limited success at the time - so would anyone - but the warning signs were appearing and it took time and the courage of a a number of individuals to convince enough people to do something about it.
It was a big boy who "done" it but he didnt run away - we chased him away and took our club back.
It is all one continuing the abuse in some sort of self righteous pretence that it could never have happened to you but It very nearly did.
Had you been faced with the prospect of liquidation or administration I wonder if you would be so self righteous.
We do regret the loss to so many people but the value of the club to the community is of more importance.
I have said that we are aware of who is due money and we as individuals are making a point of using their services and paying for them as much as we can.
As far as charitys are concerned...stop blethering. There was 1 unpaid bill to the Red Cross which has probably been taken care of by a fan.
Again you blame us for witholding money from you and other clubs....We knew absolutely nothing about this so why keep casting it up. I am sure all football debts are being honoured despite our 0p offer to businesses.....If you feel so bad about it you could always give some of what your getting to one of the unfortunate businesses.
Do you feel bad that you are getting yours when others get nothing?
The point is Mr Castle.....we agree with you in most of your points and if you read dotnet threads you will see that quite clearly.
Now that the good guys are in charge there is no need for continued hostility outside the normal parameters of rivalry between opponents. |

After all that's happened along the road you couldn't make up this simplistic version of events. You most certainly did not chase him away and you did not take your club back.

Mr Masterton pumped Millions and Millions of pounds of 'stolen' money into a shambles of a football club. The fans loved it, he was their hero, they felt like a big team. They all knew Armageddon was around the corner but put it to the back of thier minds and pretended everything was how it should be....
Mr Masterton runs out of ways to steal money, fans don't like club not spending money like a top side, they stop flying with the crow, now they try to shoot it because it was all his fault. Poor us they cry, we honestly believed the 10m odd quid debt was a soft loan, he lied, he lied, curse this evil man
The sad thing is, reading this dot.net you speak of only confirms my views of you lot, when Raith are spoke of.... It's all this "aye they are still the pishy wee team" "they need us to survive" "they hate us more than they like themselves".... This attitude helped put you where you are now, believing your club are something they aren't. |

Sorry for the blethering. Your right it was just the international aid charity the British Red Cross that your club bumped out of a three figure sum. Like you said somebody might have maybe paid it perhaps. Happy to set the record straight on that one. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

Unfortunately its one of these ones "if you fly wi the craws, you get shot with them"
I dont see why Masterton is to blame for all of this.Yes he deserves most of the flak for dunfermlines demise but why none of the many directors who sat alongside him whilst the club spent money they didn`t have whilst defaulting payments to HMRC and many businesses.. one who is involved in the take over.
Quote: | Take heart Pars fan, most of us know the pain you have gone through and still are going through, we have done the journey.. some fans will never quite understand it though. |
What journey is that?Cant recall our club being in admin and offering creditors 0 pence in the £.Our journey is and was somewhat different in that we attempted to pay creditors and cut our cloth massively, suffered and still are. _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Yup, we'll forgive you for clearing your debts and getting your stadium back without a problem while we've had to spend the last decade paying for ours through community work. We served our time in the second division with brutal squads while you went to cup finals and lapped up the glory.
Hopefully, the Pars can learn their lesson and live within their means. Forgiving them is a completely different matter. |
