appears as though he is on his way to Blackburn. Good move for the lad, and I'm glad we have played our part in producing a Premiership player.... but the issue with Goodie is will he be able to keep his head screwed on?

Goodwillie is brilliant when he has his napper screwed on, when he doesn't have his head on he is.... screwed! Razz

It won't come as a surprise to hear that I think Rangers have conducted themselves disgracefully throughout the whole saga. United were clear when they said £2million or p&^s off. Rangers tried to go all round the houses and make all sorts of stupid offers, whereas Blackburn simply put the money on the table (plus £800k in add-ons) and United said thankyou very much and there you go.

Rangers only have themselves to blame. If they had coughed up the straight £2million first time round then they would have had Goodwillie.

Totally agree KBID. The days of the Old Firm offering peanuts to other Scottish clubs for their best players is long gone. They can't even compete with the League 1 clubs now never mind the Championship or Premiership clubs. Their lack of European success will also stop the journeyman players from coming too.

I know that he has had a few run-ins with the law, but it surprises me. I remember speaking with him a few times when he was with us and he was so laid back and nice. Hopefully he can move on with his life - he is too talented for this nonsense.

Houston said all through his transfer saga that joining one of the Glasgow sides would be career suicide for Goodwillie. That's the reason why,

To be honest ive never really been a fan of Goodwillie (Duncan Ferguson II) but he was quite controlled for a good part of that incident and no doubt reacted to something that was said but were not privy to so hard to judge.

Bin incident is classic though, ha ha Laughing

CCTV

Amazing how things look different when you see the evidence, cctv does not paint a picture of Goodwillie as a mindless thug, as portrayed in some sections of the media.

Yes, David was wrong but not exactly a 'mindless thug'. I also wonder how, when watching it on CCTV, the police were not there after a few moments.

His friend had just been knocked out and he retaliated. Right or wrong I dont see that he is as much a thug as the press seemed to make out initially

The guy deserved the battering from Goodwillie after his cowardly attack on Swanson

exactly when you consider swanson was lying unconcious with a potentially serious head injury

Goodwillie actually showed more restraint than others in the incident. There were times early on in the clip where he seemed to be the only one not involved in the scuffles that broke out.

It certainly would be difficult for him to plead not guilty, but the circumstances are far from what the media were making out, sensationalist tripe.
