Greig Young, signs an MA contract until Jun 2023. Taking number 29 for now, LB from Fife Elite, and was the trialist LB recently. Jings, he looks young in the Rovers signing photo!

Pleased for the young lad, he had a shaky debut against Stranraer and was being run ragged by their number 10 (Joe Moore I think) but looked a lot better against Queens. Not the quickest but managed to get into the right place at the right time more often than not. He'll learn a lot from Berra and Dick I think.

Indeed, he’s a very promising young player, at a very useful position. While Dick’s knee is rounding back into shape, Grieg will likely get action in several Cup games, quite possibly starting a couple. Even then he’ll get immense benefit from practicing with the team, and playing a little. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if he spends the second half on a loan to a team like Cowdenbeath, IF (always a big if with the Rovers) everyone is healthy. For now, offers the backup to Dick that Musonda was expected to be.

Loaned to Elgin City until Jan ‘23…and straight into the starting lineup the same day it’s announced. Strangely enough, still on a MA contract expiring May ‘23.

Notches an assist 18’ in…again the same Stirling Albion side we struggled against.

Should still be at SP instead of the 5th choice Aberdeen LB we have.

While I agree, in principle, I don’t think IM would start Young before Dick. Therefore, getting Young game play at Elgin right now is money in the bank for us, as long as we sign the lad to a contract. Otherwise, we’re showing him off for free, and probably still paying a decent bit of his meager pay packet.

I do think that we have Arnott, Young and Mitchell as genuine future quality players, and IM seems to feel there’s something about Coulson too.

Not so good news, requires an operation and can only hope to be back before seasons end. No word on the exact injury, but his right leg was pictured in a hip to ankle support with him on forearm supports.
