Over the years we have had tension gripping clashes, fantastic games and usually great goals with Morton, they are one of our great rivals. I remember big crowds watching as we battled in the old League 2 in the late 1960s.

And we need to start winning and this is a winnable game. COYR

The game against Morton which will stick forever in my memory took place on March 2nd, 1968. It was our first season back in the top flight, and it was looking like we were going straight back down. Two goals from Gordon Wallace, plus one from George Falconer, resulted in a 3-1 win. This led to an amazing run of 10 games of which we only lost 4, beating the likes of Aberdeen and Hearts along the way. A repeat this week will be fine!

my first ever Rovers game was in December 1963 against Morton who were flying high in the old second division with Alan McGraw their top scorer possibly top scorer in the league as well. We lost 3-0 and I remember it being bitterly cold. Then the bus journey back home to a warm coal fire. Happy days indeed.

Aye, I agree a repeat this week will be fine WO. A better repeat however would be to continue on the following run of 6 winning Games. Wink

The games against Morton that spring to my mind are in the early 90s, one at Starks where Gordon Dalziel scored with a spectacular overhead kick, and a league match at Cappielow with Brewster and Dalziel running riot with Craig picking Daz out for a terrific diving header to secure the points.

Oh for forwards like those two! Great days indeed.

Really hoping for goals this week. COYR.

Seen many a game against Morton over the years but my main memory was horsing them 5-0 the day my son was born. Sitting in the hospital, wife out her nut on pain relief and my son hours from being born and here's me sitting at her bedside watching the Rovers Laughing

As for this game. Really could do with getting 3 points here. Was encouraged by some of our play against Dundee and it's another week with our new players getting to know their team mates and training together. From what I saw on Saturday I don't think we're too far away from getting a decent result. Dundee didn't look any great shakes and neither did Cove which is the frustrating thing but can't afford to keep going games with no points and no goals.

It may be the same eleven who started the second half last Saturday who will start this weekend. (Dylan Easton on from KO in place of Kieran Ngwenya, with Ethan Ross moving to the wing )
May be no bad thing, allowing the new players to bed in more.
I'm fairly confident that we will get our first league win.
C'mon The Rovers!

I don’t think there is any team in this league who stands out as a potential runaway title winner. However, these are the sort of matches we need to be winning if we hope to be at least in the playoffs at the end of the season. Gullan was excellent pre season and showed he can score goals but needs support. I would happily take a narrow home win

Quite honestly I'd take a draw. Let's get a point on the board and move on to the next game. Obviously a victory would be fantastic but I'm a bit risk adverse and a defeat would have us in a panic after only seven competitve games.

Very Scrappy game so far with Rovers struggling to get any momentum. A couple of chances for us, but still nae bulge tae the onion bag!
