Okay so I'm not known for starting match threads but it has to be done and I wanted to get away from the debacle of Saturday.
Hopefully the squad have had some rest and some basic training as well as a good rollicking.
In a dress rehearsal for the cup final, surely we must do better than the Ayr game, surely McGlynn can finally put aside his favouritism for certain players and put out a team and tactics that can actually beat a team second bottom of the league.
As someone once said, maybees aye, maybees naw _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Well, the upside to getting killed at Palmerston is it shovels dirt on the Pars…just saying. |

The downside though if QoS get above them and stay there , thats a huge dent in our crowds if they go down, and I dont think we could afford that
So lets get 3 points and a much needed win on Sat |

The bit about the Pars support being vital to our finances is a bit of a myth.
Let's say they bring 4500 over two games, at a generous average of £15 per head net of VAT.
That amounts to £67,500 which is less than the difference in prize money between finishing one place higher or lower in the league.
Obviously I hope we win at Palmerston on Saturday, but ultimately it'll be a laugh if the Pars drop down. _________________ Dougie Hill

Obviously beating QoS is no1 priority this week but in the bigger picture, without QoS picking up any points on Saturday, really hope Dunfermline will be relegated.
It’s almost certain we will be in this division next year, for this reason it better the ‘weakest’ teams are in there with us so despite the fact it would be good to see Arbroath complete the fairytale, probably better for us if Killie win league and Arbroath stay down as they are unlikely to be so successful next year.
Dunfermline, other way round are unlikely to have such a poor season next time round if they stay up so get them down there, guided to relegation by Yogi Hughes and let them join Falkirk for at least a season!
As for the Queens game, impossible to have any confidence right now, hoping something will click and we turn the corner but won’t believe it until I see it, hopefully the return of Spencer in the coming weeks has some effect, certainly seems to have been missed. |

Nae doot it'll be written in the stars:
We'll get gubbed on Saturday when we really needed the three points. Then we will beat them in the Cup Final when all that is at stake is the Diddy cup!
Sad doesn't even cover it.

Imagine being a QotS fan in that scenario. No trophy and they could still in the playoffs only it would be a relegation playoff. _________________ Fantalk~Often wrong but never in doubt |

With another week's training ,and assuming no reaction, I'd start with Brad Spencer. After all, there are five substitutes allowed so plenty of options , even if he tires by halftime.
I know he divides opinion but Zanatta would also start for me, if fit. Not only did he seem more like himself in his last couple of games , but ,as our top scorer ,he is still
double-marked by the opposition, most of the time, freeing up space for others. If he's not closely shepherded, he can cut onto that right foot of his and have a pop.
Ethan Ross seems to have suffered a dip in form more than most, so JMcG and Smudger need to work on ways to rectify that ,as Ethan can be a match winner, when playing to his ability.
The jury is still out on whether Sean Mackie is an upgrade on Liam Dick or not.
Berra will play, despite his poor performance on Saturday, but ,perhaps, Bene should be ''rested'' for Musonda.
On the Pars, I enjoy seeing us beating them on the park. Derbies are special games and we shouldn't fear them being in the same league as us! I know my son and his pals
all look forward to matches against Dunfermline, like no other league games. Indeed, there are one or two rarely at SP except when the Pars are the opposition! |

Yes I agree. I enjoy looking forward to games against Dunfermline. I would rather they stay in the league if we are to remain in it.
I would also prefer both Falkirk and Dundee in it also. Next best thing to a derby game. |

I'm assuming that this is the match thread as very few comments up to now regarding a vitally important game today, as indeed is every game to the season's end. I'm not too confident that we can win this as Queens are on a wee roll just now but like everyone else you've got to have a wee bit of hope.
It'll all come out the wash around 16.50hrs.🤔 _________________ Talk on! Talk on!

I don't think you'd have to be Sherlock Holmes to guess that there's been a covid outbreak, or some other sort of illness in the squad. _________________ Dougie Hill

Either a Covid outbreak or a hell of a weeks training and injuries.
Can't say i'm gutted at losing Dick at left back, no Tumilty reduces our chances of attacking down the right too. Tough one here with a depleted squad, two or three goals conceded today I feel. |

It's a solid enough looking 4-4-2 on paper - not that there seems to have been much choice in terms of line-up.
Matthews' energy in midfield will be a miss, but the others weren't in the best of form anyway. Fingers crossed this patchwork side puts in a performance, although if we're going to win, I reckon it's more likely to be 1-0 than 6-4.... |

If it's a non covid illness, you worry there may be others who are less than 100% well, but are having to play to fill the jerseys. _________________ Dougie Hill
