Read an article in the Telegraph or Daily Mail, saying SPFL bringing in VAR next season but divisions 1 and 2 need not worry about the 60K costs as this would be covered by the SPFL.... .
Anyone else heard or read about this subject?
They were talking about the Scottish PL but the paper was thrown out and I forgot about it till now.p _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

I read a few days ago that the top flight would cover the costs of all four divisions.
Not sure it is necessary in the bottom couple of leagues really?
You will have games like…Stranraer v Albion Rovers in front of 100 or so fans yet numerous ‘high quality’ video cameras covering different angles just to see if an offside is correct or not? Not for me!
Trial it in the top flight for a year then maybe introduce to Championship but that would be enough for me! |

I would love it if it were only used to our advantage......but.....not the oppositions. .
I do think that the majority view across most countries is that it is beneficial to the fairness of the sport BUT, the downside is the instantaneous joy when a goal is scored is then overturned is lost.
For me it is a question of balance and at least IF we join the party, then at least the numerous problems other countries/ leagues have experienced should have all been ironed out.
It does undoubtedly affect the flow of the game, however, it does often lead to better / fairer outcomes. Imo. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

My understanding is VAR would only be implemented in the Premiership and selected cup matches so see no reason for lower league clubs to worry about costing
Article I read it would cost premiership club 80k per year
I take it refs match day fees will be reduced if VAR is brought in ? _________________ THERES FIVE OF ME |

Your kidding,
Their gonna need some lippy, haircuts, better figure hugging kit, a bit of blusher so they look better, as well as a bit of fake tan......it all adds up.
Am guessing they gonna demand an extra 30% + a cut of the TV revenues not forgetting repeat money etc etc.
And yes, I am referring to the male contingent. _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |
