Could be like the season when we humped St Mirren, who’d just been relegated, on the first game of the season then went on to win the league.

At this time of the year I always like to remind folks we haven't played a home game on boxing day since 1994.

I'd rather the boxing day fixture was dropped from the calendar, moved to a midweek prior to Xmas so that players and fans could enjoy some time off mid season.

I actually like the closing run. While Partick and the Accies away isn’t pleasant, we can use a couple of wins there to secure at least the top playoff spot before facing Killie for the title. I look at us, Partick, the Pars and ICT as the pack behind Killie, and expect that the Accies tight nature, even by Scottish standards, will keep them from competing.

Accies at home first game means welcome back K Mac. Just as long as he doesn't rip us one!😏

Right now, every fixture is an especially ‘tough’ fixture until we get some more quality footballers in the squad.

Was reading this week that our only aim last season was survival, hopefully that means, with the extra, unbudgetted for prize money, we have extra pennies to entice the players we need...

I'd just like to see us get more players in, given the guys that are away, we're looking ridiculously tight on numbers. Hoping McGlynn is going to pull a fair few rabbits out of his baseball cap, and soon.

Given we spent last year with around 26-28 on the list, counting MCGurn and McKay, and we currently have 20, pending someone coming in for Hendry’s slot (wasn’t available until he was officially off), and we can probably expect 3 or 4 loanees…we may not see too much, as we started last season with 22 active roster players.

Remember we can play trialists in these games, it's about game time to see if some of these players are worth a contract.

That said, I saw Daniel Armstrong turn out for the reserves against Queens Park as a trialist and he was rank rotten, John must have seen something and he turned out OK.
