Another midfielder.
It's a striker or two we need. |

I think we need both but midfielders are the bigger need.
Earlier in the season we had the same mount of strikers but both Zanatta and Ross were banging them in, that's dried up and folks are shouting for a goal scoring striker. With Zanatta and to a lesser degree Ross a bit off the boil and more critically no midfield play maker (Spencer) we have created nothing in our last two games as the midfield has been over-run in both.
We could sign someone like Brian Graham but unless he's capable of manufacturing his own chances the staus quo would likely remain.
Now if we just had a fit LV then that'd be a different story. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

The feedback on him isn't that great, even if we are getting him for nothing, then bringing in a youngster from Rangers to give him game time and help him develop, rather sticks in the craw. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

He's been out on loan at the hoofball champions. To my mind, that explains his lack of game-time and the lukewarm views of him expressed down Livi way.
Before that, last season he was the one midfielder at Arbroath who could carry the ball and, in my view, gave last season's Lichties the balance that kept them comfortable in the league.
So, I think he deserves the chance to shine in a team that should suit his own style of play. That, I would hope, will be the Rovers. At any rate, he deserves the opportunity, I'd say |

I'd be in favour of seeing Ben in a Raith jersey. I thought he looked good playing for Arbroath. He's just a young lad with limited experience ,so the loan to a Premiership side doesn't seem well thought out. At Championship level ,especially at a passing side like The Rovers, he should be a compatible fit. I hope that his bad experience at Livi hasn't dented his confidence.
Not very keen on this possible loan deal being all over the media before things may have been formalised. A club with a bigger budget could step in. It has happened before! |

Would agree we still need a #9 though, Varian and Poplatnik are more of #10s for me and whilst Varians' work rate is excellent, we need someone who will get us 10-15 goals in the second half of the season. _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Looks to be a DM/CM who is looking to add attacking credentials. Gonna cause a wee bit of a logjam in midfield, should be interesting. |

The midfield has seriously misfired if not over the last half dozen games then at least since Spenys injury. Since then it's looked a dull instrument, It needed freshening up and now we are without Tait and Spencer changes have been forced. Now with fresh options we hopefully have a different dynamic. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

Fair enough. Looking at the list of midfield players:
Defensively focused: BRS, Spencer and Tait recently, by need.
Balanced: Williamson, Tait previously.
Offensively focused: Ross, Matthews, Arnott, Stanton
I see the older version of Stanton being more balanced, a steadying feature in the middle. Williamson will be shoehorned in, and get play in all midfield roles as part of his development. |

Watched his interview, didn't come over very well for me, almost like he was doing us a favour, perhaps he is and perhaps that little bit of gallusness is what we need in the middle, time will tell.
Suffice to say, I'm looking forward to seeing Matthews and Stanton create a good and productive partnership _________________ http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ |

Bit harsh rz! Thought he came over pretty well and I look forward to seeing him play.
Like most loans from Old Firm youngsters, comes down to whether the player himself feels too good to be ‘slumming’it down here and is going through the motions or whether he buys into it all, realises the benefits and goes all in 100%..
All will become clear in near future! |

We can only hope he's more of a Ryan Hardie/Regan Hendry type than a Barry McKay. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

I can't see Dick Campbell (nor the likes of Tam O'Brien) allowing any player to act like they are too superior for their team and teammates!😂
Was he not Arbroath's Young Player of the Season when with them?
Ben seemed like a good Fife lad to me in his interview and I refuse to prejudge him based on his parent team.
He says that he likes to tackle so I don't expect he'll be swanning around in the middle of the park. He and Rossco should give us good dig in
midfield to complement Sam Stanton/Brad Spencer (when fit) and provide competition in that area. |
