Did anyone else almost forget this one after last night? Well after that, 5-1 to Scotland would seem pretty lame! Rovers fans will be very hard to please tonight - maybe even harder to please than Old Firm fans! Seriously though, what kind of a win (if any) would it take at this point to get the Tartan Army raving again?
As many eyes will be on Austria v Denmark. A draw would be the best result for us - if points disappear and the head-to-head aspect. If Israel were to somehow drop points to Moldova, that would benefit us too. |

Great minds think alike , Neil!
We are going to have to drop a level or two in our expectations of silky football , compared to last night at San Starko.
After two draws , I'll take a single goal margin in our favour and the three points. (I'll never forget us playing the Faroes in Bertie's time😩). Goal difference is less important these days than the head -to-head results.
But if we can score a few, all the better and to do that we should play four at the back as it's a lower-ranked team and be on the front foot from the start.
I can't predict the personnel, since some players will have suffered more , physically ,from not only the first two games , but especially the long travel time to Israel and back.
A draw in the game between the two top seeds seems preferable if we are still aiming for top spot and automatic qualification, which we should be. (if , later , we are left with second place as our best option, a draw may not be in our favour , but too early to know ). |

I was at Hampden in 1983 or 84 Scotland played Yugoslavia in a friendly international and Scotland won 6-1. That's the most goals I have seen Scotland score. Anyway something similar tonight wouldn't go amiss. |

Was it not, ironically, Stevie Crawford who came off the bench in that game and salvaged a scarcely deserved point for Scotland? _________________ Dougie Hill

With professional heads on I think we should be too strong for them, thinking 2-0.
Clarke probably should have drafted the full Raith Rovers squad in at the last minute to ensure a comfortable evening. |

If scores finish as they are, it wouldn't be too bad, from our point of view. We shouldn't expect luck from fixtures we don't play in though and this is very uninspiring so far. |

Great to win 4-0 - but just looking at the Goals-Against column in the group table - you can tell who has already played Denmark! If Stevie Clark can find a way to stop them, he will be up there with the all-time greats! |

Satisfied with tonight's result. Good that Che Adams got his first goal and not only John McGinn but also Ryan Fraser becoming a regular scorer for the National side.
KT was absolutely outstanding and Robbo played his part, although, against a better side we could be caught out with both being so far up the pitch so often.
As the Germany result shows , there are still banana skins out there.
I think if we can avoid playing Denmark , we will do ok in this Group. |

News from FOFA today - Scotland don’t have to play Denmark in a new Covid rule that states seed 3 teams only have to play seeded teams below Seed 1. What a relief that means we could qualify for two major competitions in as many years. I for one am delighted with this new rule. _________________ Here Wee go again |
