|
|
We have had such a bright start to the season ,JMcG and the Board must be considering
how to tackle the contract extension situation. In a normal length season, there is reasonable time
to assess the squad and address this aspect, but not this year. The great majority of our players will be free to sign pre-contracts elsewhere in January, won't they?
We are not yet established in the Championship. What do we do? |

I doubt with all the uncertainty that we will not be in a position to offer to extend anyone’s contracts as we still can’t confidently be sure this season will finish never mind next season and with no real prospect of the fans getting back in it wouldn’t make financial sense _________________ Davie McGurn gone but never forgotten! |

Spot On that may be the conclusion they reach - but David Bates and Kevin Nisbet leaving with no transfer fee return will still be on their minds?
It may be a short discussion at Board level- or they may decide that there are exceptions, even in these exceptional circumstances?
If so, re which player(s)? |

I did hint at this yesterday on the match thread when scouts were mentioned,
Armstrong, Hendry, Duku, Mathews, Musonda, are all out of contract come June, not forgetting Vaughan as well as Ugwu who we've seen little off to know if hes any good yet
Also Mendy, Spencer and McKay are all 2021 as well
Thats a fair chunk of talent we dare not lose |

Bill Clark was adamant in July that he would get Hendry to sign up again, I think that now he’s back and along with Steven MacD we will have more good news than bad on the extensions side of things.
My son has an interested take on things, he reckons that Ross Matthews is the key man to re-sign. He’s of the opinion that sooner or later we will lose Hendry, Tait and Armstrong to bigger clubs but Rosco is the one who could be here the longest. He’s probably not wrong either. _________________ Competitive goals: Vaughan 5, Smith 4, Easton 3, Hamilton 2, Dick 1, Gullan 1, Masson 1, Mitchell 1, Mullin 1, Stanton 1, Watson 1, OG's 1, |

We didn't lose Bates for free.
We wilfully have gave him away to the Huns for nothing. _________________ Dougie Hill

To be fair, I think me managed to negotiate a set of bibs for him!! Although I doubt they were new. |

Great news for the Club and very well deserved for Dylan.
It wasn't the most obvious announcement, given his previous
contract ran to the end of next season, but a very welcome one.
Is he the exception in these very difficult financial times?
On the other hand, one or two players who are free to sign pre-contracts in January may be keeping
their options open? (or may have a shrewd idea of their next move?) Time will tell. |

Evening News of Edinburgh yesterday quoting that Neilson is on the lookout to sign a striker and a fizzy winger in January. My words. Suspect that Franco and Tx may be right - protecting our asse(t)s _________________ Here Wee go again |

The RR website advises that it's Manny's 28th birthday ,today. In view of what we have seen of Manny this season ,isn't it very surprising that he hasn't achieved more in football up until now? Or are we , in Scotland, underestimating the standard in the lower reaches of the English game -and overestimating our own? I wonder how Manny and Frankie (Gozie too, though he's mainly been watching) perceive our level of football? Maybe Raith TV will ask one of them ,shortly!
Perhaps, Manny's achievements ,by his age, will have possible suitors holding back - or, perhaps , not, as goal-scoring strikers are at a premium.
What does surprise me is the assumption that Frankie will be signing a pre-contract elsewhere in January. He's hardly played for us at CB and also our goals against tally is (as usual) unimpressive. Yes, he's looked assured....but it's early days. |

Young Ross, his contract ends with Aberdeen come the end of the season. Dont know how Aberdeen view him but I would like to think that we will speak to him from next month about staying a little longer with us. |

Just looked on an Aberdeen forum, which I see SG has also been on, and the Don's fans dont seem to rate him and reckon he has found his level. I certainly hope that is the case for now. |
