Sad news.
His playing career was before my time, but remember him well as a manager.
We generally did well against Morton in that era, but they were still a decent side and he produced a conveyor belt of talent for them, sold on for big money - Brian Reid, Alan Mahood, David Hopkin, Alex Mathie (although he was signed from Celtic initially).
The biggest tragedy was that he wasn't afforded a great quality of life due to mobility issues caused by multiple cortisone injections, before it was known the damage that excessive doses could do. _________________ Dougie Hill
