| One of my Rovers hero's from way back when. Very sad to here he has passed away. My thoughts are with his family. RIP Alex you were one of the best. |

RIP Alex
Like happy days Alex Gray was one of heroes in the great team we had back in 1969. We were flying back then playing exciting football and Alex was strong like a lion in defence. |

Brings back happy memories .
Tommy Houston and I played for Balwearie school together.
And bobby Reid, a legend.
Starks park was buzzing in those days

He also scored a few grwat goals. I remember one against Partick Thistle at Starks. The ball flew past the respected George Niven before he had even a chance to move. One helluva strike

| Remember the 2-0 defeat at Parkhead in the late 60's when Alec had to go in goals after Bobby Reid got sent off. Alec played most of that game with a broken jaw after Jimmy Johnstone stamped on his face. There again at Parkhead you got away with these things. Bobby Ried was sent off for lumping Bobby Lennox he also did that to Lennox in another game and on both occasions he was found not guilty by the SFA committee. That game at Parkhead we had a right half who strolled through that game and in my opinion it was probably his finest game in a Rovers jersey Davie Miller or Millar I'm really not sure now. Anyway Alec Grey played through injury that day how many of your modern day players would do that. |

Memories keep popping up......Alex was one of our greatest for sure.
I also recall Gordon Wallace mark 1, was he not around then also  .
I loved the white shirt with two blue hoops......very similar to Montrose although their hoops were narrower, IF memory serves correctly.
RIP Alex. His generation where something else

| You're bang on the mark, Cuparman! If we'd played the whole 1967/8 season in the manner played against Morton on 02/03/68, who knows what course our history might have taken? Pl.-11; won-6; draw-1, lost 4. G. Wallace no.1 was our talisman. |
