I just happened to look at when I joined Fantalk and it was July 2008. 15 years this forum has been running and still going strong. Credit to the admin, moderators and fans for this. I recall this took over from a previous forum site but onwards and upwards. |

Here’s hoping to another 15 years of good debate/observations/happy times/ good football/ great highlights and a modicum of success.
And a stuffing of the Pars should our paths cross.

For all you history buffs.
Fantalk was born as part of the original Raith Rovers website when it was launched in 1997, and it ran as part of the official site until 2008 when the club requested that it should be detached/removed from the site as the club didn't want to be held responsible for any 'controversial' comments that might be posted on the forums.
So in July 2008 I was given 24 hours to create the 'new' version of Fantalk and transfer everything over to here.
This new 'Unofficial' version of Fantalk was launched on 4th July 2008 with no interruption in service and, thanks to the efforts of the various moderators, has continued to run ever since, with the highest number of members ever recorded viewing the forum at any one time being 450 on 7th July 2022 at 8.13 pm discussing last years Season Ticket prices and the launch of the new strips including the pink away strip.
Here endeth the history lesson. |

Firstly, let me say thank you for setting up this site.
Secondly, without your creation we would have nowhere to get our own “ views “ on as the “ other” site is pure cowboy land.
Also , it is remarkable how well it actually runs. Rarely if ever does it break down.
Thanks also to the “ mods” who also give up their time to help the whole thing run smoothly.👍 _________________ Born a Rover Live a Rover Die a Rover |

Hey, I’m right here!
But, in all seriousness, great job with fan talk. The option of a fan site exclusive to Raith Rovers is critical for many fans, and as such this site does a great job in allowing voices and discussion.
It should show how professionally this site is run when you consider that until I had been participating a while I still thought there was a “FanTalk” for each and every Scottish (or maybe British) football team.
Great work. |

I recall that breakway, when things on the club site became a bit political!
Fantalk has done well! We can get a little heated at times, but Admin have done a great job spotting and getting rid of the real haters, the slanderers and the the baiters (add a prefix if you like! ) - whilst being really fair to the rest of us and never getting on to us about small things.
Football is an emotional topic. We have had a lot to get emotional about recently - both good and bad! Still, I have been on forums of much more passive hobbies, where there was far more is naming, shaming, flaming and blaming! There are a lot of intelligent and relevant conversations on here, compared to the blinkered conversations, flaming and shameless egos that you see on some forums!
Well done Admin and everyone on here! Long live Fantalk! |

Fantalk is actually 26 years old in total as it was started in 1997.
There was no break in service when I removed it from the official site in 2008 and relocated to here and, seeing as nothing else changed.....we just moved tae oor new hoose. |

All the forums have been pruned in a general clean up to remove any posts that have not been replied to in the last 6 months, and to make room for future posts. |
