Hi, just joined the site to see if any of you would be interested in buying some official XARA Raith Rovers merchandise.

Myself and a couple of mates bought some stock from Xara and are looking to shift it on for a fair price.

There would probably be around 300-500 pieces from football tops (Bar Itza sponsor) to kids pyjamas to shorts, socks etc. We wouldn't be hard to deal with and would probably accept £1 - £1.50 per item if the gear was to be bought in a job lot.

It would probably suit somebody that runs supporters buses etc as it could be used for raffles, fundraisers etc

Drop me a PM if you're interested and we can take it from there.

Cheers and all the best for the season ahead

Sounds really tempting.....however, as someone who helps to run a supporters group, I would rather the £300-£500 you want for a bulk buy was put directly into the Rovers rather than to a third party.

In which case.......I'm out Wink (just my view though)

But why not take the £300-500 and turn it into £600-1000 for your supporters club?

Raffles at £1 a ticket on 50 seater bus with even 10 prizes gives you £40 profit per bus for your supporters club

Worth a punt?

Not really.

Our bus usually takes 16-30. So best case scenario, £30 return for an investment of £500.

Even involving the supporters club bus, which is usually 60 odd, would only generate a return of £90.

That makes a loss of £410.

Moreover, with it being older stock, why would anyone pay £1 for a raffle ticket for something they've already got and which is at least 5 seasons out of date?

This would only work if you were willing to sell a full set of kit in smaller batches to a supporters team or youth team, for example, and not a bulk buy of 500.

I'm guessing you only paid around £50-£100 for the lot so 500 is a bit cheeky

Do the decent thing and donate to charity, there's one which sends football tops to Africa, or is it Africans that donate to Kdy..... Laughing

So I'm guessing my estimate of what you paid must have been pretty accurate

Yep, got that message from around two days after the initial post, but as hard as I tried I couldn't resist posting to the couple of numpties that had replied.

Quite happy for the mods to delete this thread now given the almost complete lack of interest Wink
