Poll is a bit of a mess now.

Scott Thompson for me but Murray was a close second. Jim Thorburn and Cat Drummond were excellent as well so my dad said.

Ah, memories! Charlie was my first Raith hero. (And, no, I'm not Tam's dad, though that Wall cheque will come in handy, son). I remember him blocking everything one day versus Hearts. Unfortunately, that was in the warm-up and he let a trundler through his legs in the match. 0-3, I think. Jim Thorburn was a worthy successor - in the best possible sense.

I remember Bobby Reid at Montrose, too, but it's going to be between McDermott and Scott Thomson, if only for THAT save... Oh, all right then - it's Charlie. Us auld yins get to dither, eh, Tam? Wink

Think it has to be Murray McD for me, just a natural, and very few mistakes, or howlers as they are known today Laughing

Difficult poll this one - voted for Murray as I was around for all of his Rovers career; he was easily worth 15 points a season (2 points for a win!) with his incredible concentration and consistency. Scott T a close second , whilst Bobby Reid was the keeper when I first started watching the Rovers in 1967. In those days the Flyers had a (Roy) Reid in goal - to a youngster like me I thought that the same guy was playing football on Saturday afternnons and hockey at night! I think that it was Alec Gray who went in goal at Parkhead when Bobby Reid was sent off - for "dunting" Bobby Lennox on the head with the ball??

Not a difficult one for me.

Murray by a mile.

followed far behind by;
Scott Thomson - Calum Frame - Hamish (swing on the bar) McAlpine - Gordon Arthur - Ronnie McLafferty - Bobby Geddes - Brian (hero!) Potter - Raul - Van De Camp (he'd have figured higher if he'd been better at crosses!) Wink

For some reason i have it in my head that he did and he also scored a couple of goals for us Question Question
Not 100% on this, but think one of our keepers scored at Rugby Park from a massive clearance. I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong Very Happy.
Has to be Murray for me as he never let the side down.

Hamish scored away to Kilmarnock in the 87/88 season for a 4-3 win.

MAGIC.

John Gordon the referee from Newport was the man. Used to take us for BB training as his son was in the company. A really nice guy BUT---never spoke to him for weeks thereafter!! John just let things run their course and it was "as you were" a wee while later. Laughing
Gawd! the memories.

Bobby Reid for Scotland!

I seem to have memories of him playing on the wing in a New Years day match. Can anyone confirm?
