Dowds should have seen a red for the challenge on Ashcroft, studs up.

Instead, it's Ashcroft that's off - barely in the door. I hope his substitution is just precautionary.

Big Kev seemingly injured as well, a good 3 points away to that lot but once again my nerves are shot

was able to watch on Ayr TV - what a game for us. Everyone to be complemented on the effort, Easton back to his tricky self. Two excellent goals but IMO maybe should have left Rudden on - he is a fine player. Couple of good if over spectacular stops from big Kev.

Harder game than United had. Good result! I'll take yet another single-goal-victory - all day long!

Manager suggesting Ashcroft out for maybe a month but could be worse and out for the season!
Gutted for the player, the team and the fans.๐Ÿฅบ

The injury to Ashcroft is a bit of a hammer blow. Other than that though today was an excellent result which moves us onto our next cup final on Tuesday. Win our last twelve games and we win the league.

Excellent interview exchanges from Liam Dick. Really interesting listening to his thoughts on how things are doing in the team .๐Ÿ‘

Thought we played some good stuff at times, unfortunately not enough times.
Our pass and move footy is a lovely sight but it is infrequent for large swathes of the game.
Too many punted balls that result in a 50/50 as to wether we gain possession or not.

The Ayr goal was yet another example of panic stations in our own box, quite a few just heading it up in the air without actually clearing it away......miss timed headers in other words.
IM needs to drill into the players to keep it simple and on the deck.....they do do it, but just not enough of it.

Coming away with the win is great, but we have to defend balls into the box without hitting the panic button.
The singing section did us proud today.
We were in the stand and there wasnโ€™t much enthusiasm for singing there.
Last visit we were all together in 5he stand, singing/ chanting is infectious there.
Not quite the same atmosphere when split.

Great result, but this group need to โ€œ clickโ€ more often. This would really see us terrifying others.
Thought big Kev did well today.

Totally agree about Rudden.
Hard worker/ fast/ good finisher.

I think he brings a lot to the team and is โ€œ maybeโ€ not quite getting the plaudits his work rate/ goals deserve coz he is an on loan player.

A good team player.๐Ÿ‘

I will have to disagree with you here Cuparman, we had no mistimed headers because we never got a head on the ball. As Liam Dick said in his interview, Ayr had guys way taller than our guys and they out jumped our defence twice. Not sure it was panic stations as such more back to the way we were playing earlier in the season where we had guys throwing themselves in front of the ball to try and get a block in, it struck me that some of the desire we have been missing these past few games was back. Just the way I saw it.

Who knew Rudden could ping a ball like that, wow. Seems a really good acquisition if he can keep this form up because at this level he has shown to have every tool at his disposal to make quite a difference to our season.

Lewis took his goal well and he seems a good foil for Rudden, more so than Hamilton, but I think Hamilton is a good back up to either of those guys just not quite at their level yet, for example, I don't think he would have peeled off his marker the way rudden did for his goal, that was clever movement.

Perhaps someone knows the loan rules and can enlighten me - if Ashcroft is out for the season, can we save his wages and send him back to Dundee then get someone else in instead?
