Excellent news. I see that the gaffer and Mickey are likely to be making cameo appearances as well. I really just hope that folks turn up for the testimonial and/or buy a ticket, or maybe even two, thus contributing to the coffers.๐Ÿคž

As well he might, if memory serves he got his ACL injury at the same venue as LV was to get his 3rd one, just 12 months later.

Looking at our team line up for tonight, a tad disappointed. Was hoping to see various players that have played with Vaughan over the years.

He's not in the line up or subs. Also in the subs is a Murray. Which one is not clear. We await with baited breath.๐Ÿฅน
Shock! Horror! Corr makes the starting eleven!

Shocked
Somebody has turned on the โ€œ gravityโ€ switch tonight. It been switched off for quite a few games this season. Wink

Nice to see the players keeping the ball on the deck and moving the ball well.
Despite just losing a goal, the team are playing well.

It just goes to show how much โ€œ pressure โ€œ has an effect on a players mindset.

Impressed with young Corr, looks really promising.

I thought that there were certain conventions at Testamonials like a soft penalty to be taken by the main man or a saveable shot slipping through the opposition keeper's fingers into the net ?
Still, there was a decent turnout for LV.
Perhaps I missed it before the match ( I arrived five minutes late courtesy of my son) but I would have thought that there would have an announcement at the end of the game that there would a presentation? Half the crowd disappeared before that happened and most of the rest of the South Stand were on the exit steps . Unfortunate.

However, looking forward to many happy future occasions applauding Lewie in front of the South Stand (and elsewhere).

Is there some sort of announcement made as to how much Vaughany will actually receive from his testimonial matches/ other events, or is it a private scenario between him and the Inland revenue peeps.

Nosey,yes.
Just interested about how much of my money goes to the player is all.

He certainly deserves whatever he gets. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž

I'm with you on this Franco. This was not the "traditional" style of Testimonial matches I have witnessed over the years. I get the young Hibs lads were out to impress their boss, and rightly so. If they get a chance they should be grabbing it with both hands. However, Testimonial games used to be played out as almost exhibition matches where there was a lot of show boating and fun, old players and ex team mates putting in a performance, and of course the obligatory penalty which was taken by whoever the Testimonial was for, and was NEVER saved by the opposition Keeper.

I was however VERY happy at the attendance last night for Lewis and well done to all who attended and of course the organisers. Just a wee tad sad that the fun spirit of the game was lost somehow? I guess this is maybe yet another tradition that is sadly slipping away? (Or is this just another rant because I am old, past it, and have no idea of what is going on in this modern world in which we inhabit!?)

I imagine many supporters bought tickets but couldnโ€™t attend - like me and I think Embow also. But agree he should have scored an exhibition goal of any sort.

More disappointing that some players he had previously played with werenโ€™t playing. Would have been good to see the likes of Hendry or Spencer etc but playing mid season means that clubs wouldnโ€™t release players. Hopefully the committee learn for the next time about scheduling of these matches. However, great to see one of our own get a payout
