In light of the high degree of positivity around Rovers this season, and hopefully for a long time to come - might it be an idea to encourage the singers amongst us to belt out exclusively supportive chants home and away?

After last Saturday's 95% success in positively encouraging our team through song, can we try to eliminate the 5% negative opposition-baiting stuff? At Tannadice it was the predictable and tiresome "In your Dundee slums" ditty. And at the San Starko this time round, I don't doubt that we'll be 'treated' to the equally turgid "Ayr, Ayr, f*** your Ayr United" at various points.

My point is that neither of these 'tunes' offers any support to our team, at most they mildly niggle opposing supporters, but hardly even that. So instead, can we stick with the 101 positive songs now in our repertoire?

As well as the pro-Rovers team chants, we have "One of our own", we have The Showman song, and more for other individual players too - Broony, Shaun-y Byrne etc.

Every single one of these brings on the feelgood factor way more effectively than feeble opposition baiting. Not only that, it improves the family atmosphere by reducing the decibels of offensive language.

A worthwhile shout, or a waste of energy/effort to bring about such a mindset upgrade?

Just getting the South Stand slightly more invested/audible would be a start. Despite the upturn in performance, rise in crowds, lofty league position..I’ve found it still rather flat for the best part…this isn’t taking in to account the late winners/come from behind victories which are an exception, the general 85mins or so preceding I’m on about.

We need DeliaSmith to bring her microphone and do the half time draw!

Guess it the whole day out/extra booze for many etc which helps but the away experience is almost always more atmospheric and ‘loud’, generally more fun!
